The 19-year-old former Kilmarnock winger, who had spells out on loan at MK Dons and Tranmere Rovers last season, will play for the Hibees until January. Disclaimer Ian Bennett 1 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:30:38 Kennedy out, Atsu in? Reportedly having a medical. So, stand by for Goodison exercise (FF press conference)... Phil Walling 2 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:39:08 With Europe to contend with, I guess we will be keeping more of the young hopefuls near to hand this season.Garbutt and Browning looked likely contenders but most seemed a long way short of first team material - even for Thursday nights.Pity we didn't see anything of young Stanic, I think we are desperate for a back-up goalie. Derek Knox 3 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:38:45 I watched the Rangers v Hibs Cup game on BBC Alba the other night and thought it was a decent enough game at a reasonable standard, but felt the game totally changed when Handling, who had got the equaliser for Hibs, was controversially sent off, for a yellow card tackle, which the ref gave a straight red !So I think this will be a good move for Matt ( Kennedy ) and hopefully bring his progression on for us ! He obviously knows Alan Stubbs well, and I have every faith he will do the best for the lad and Everton ultimately. James Elworthy 4 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:51:56 Garbutt had been excellent in pre season prior to a groin injury.None of the other youngsters looked ready at all Derek Knox 5 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:52:22 Phil # 2 Couldn't agree with you more mate, I have been watching Everton for many years and can never recall having a keeper, albeit No2 that has evoked such a feeling of dread and despair when he gets selected for whatever the reason !We have had some absolute lemons in goal, but also a couple of the very best Big Nev and Nigel Martin ( although we got him too late ) but even the lemons didn't look anywhere near as dodgy as El Teflon .Have you or anyone else, had problems connecting to TW ? I have had about a week now on and off, of been frozen out ! 504 Gateway Time-OutWe should have gone for Al-Habsi Phil ! Phill Thompson 6 Posted 08/08/2014 at 15:29:24 Hmm, thought we had a link up arranged with Dundee now in SPL? No problem him going to Hibs but potentially only 4 or 5 good quality games against Rangers/Hearts but will be playing at the top end of the league. Mike Allison 8 Posted 08/08/2014 at 16:24:14 Hibs aren't even in the SPL, I don't see what playing at this standard of football will do for Kennedy. If any of our youngsters have a chance of being Premiership footballers, you'd want them in the Championship or SPL minimum. I wonder as he's only 19 if the plan is to get him playing every week, then play a higher standard after January. I doubt he could be ready for us given the leap in standard that would be required. Dave Cook 9 Posted 08/08/2014 at 16:30:27 A few of our youth players seem to have a 6 month period at a league 1 level side before going to a Championship level side.I think the main reason for his initial move is because of his relationship with Stubbsy Dave Abrahams 10 Posted 08/08/2014 at 16:49:04 We definitely need a back up goalie. Robles looks like heÂs been coached by Paul Gerard and Richard Wright – there is no sign of any improvement in the Spanish lad. Dave Williams 11 Posted 08/08/2014 at 17:38:15 Derek, you should have seen Dai Davies competing with Dave Lawson for the goalkeeper spot back in the 1970s. Dai put the fear of god in everyone whenever a cross came over whilst Lawson had the narrowest sloping shoulders of any athlete I ever saw and was signed on the back of one good performance for Huddersfield at Anfield for a then record fee of 㿼k!Either of these two make Robles look half decent but were probably not helped by having Terry Darracott and John McLaughlin at full back.Makes me realise what a great squad we have now!! Kieran Kinsella 12 Posted 09/08/2014 at 00:50:48 Ridiculous deal. He played in the SPL before he joined us and now after a year at Everton he drops down a division in Scotland. Even Kissock and Agard played top flight Scottish football while on loan and they were rubbish. This must be some kind of charity deal for Stubbs.
