Ghanaian pleased by Blues welcome
Christian Atsu appears to be very content with his season-long loan move, expressing that he has been made to feel very welcome by the players and fans alike during his first week with the club.

The 22-year-old joined from Chelsea last week and has spent the time getting to know his new surroundings and new team-mates.

“I have been here a week now and I am so happy with the players, with everyone," Atsu. "I have had warm wishes from the fans on social networks as well, so I am very happy.

“I had a lot of messages and a lot of new followers who are Everton fans, which is great.”

The Ghanaian international was an unused substitute against Leicester last weekend but played alongside the likes of Muhamed Besic, Darron Gibson, Seamus Coleman, Antolin Alcaraz and Kevin Mirallas, and scored two goals in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Fleetwood earlier this week that the Blues won 5-0.

He could be involved for the first time against Arsenal this weekend and he is no doubt looking forward to making his debut.

Atsu also revealed some of the Chelsea players agreed with him that Everton was a great club and that the move would be good for him.

“After the World Cup, when I came back to Chelsea they told me of Everton's interest,” he continues. “I told them Everton were a great Club and I would prefer to play for them.

“I think Everton is a great Club with a great manager and they try to play football, which is very important for me.

“When I was training with Chelsea a lot of the players told me Everton is a great Club."

Of course he is both he and Besic. Roberto didn't use them last week to throw Arsenal off figuring we could win with what we had on the pitch. He was right for 85 minutes. Dam that 86 th minute!

I wonder if Eto'o was one of them?

Hope he does start on Sat, he seems to be in the same mould as both Donovan and Delo with his runs into the area and an eye for the back of the net, CanÂ’t comment on Besic as I havenÂ’t seen him play but most posters on the site say heÂ’s good and they should know.

See the Â’Tater wonÂ’t be playing, good, the bombshell news from across the park makes the Â’punditsÂ’ wonder if Rodgers has lost the plot along with most of their fans who think swapping one nutter for another is fantastic news

Looking forward to seeing this lad in action - skill & pace is exactly what we're missing. More of this type of player please, Roberto.

Atsu was fantastic for Ghana in the World Cup... he's going to be a real star this season.
