Disclaimer Brian Garside 1 Posted 14/10/2014 at 19:24:44 I don't understand. How can Luke Shaw be preferred over Luke Garbutt? Can anyone explain? Bill Gall 2 Posted 14/10/2014 at 22:40:04 I guess you have not been reading who is the media's flavour of the month. Talent means nothing. Steve Carse 3 Posted 15/10/2014 at 00:23:48 The media already have not just Shaw but also Gibbs as replacing Baines in the England LB pecking order this season. Sam Hoare 4 Posted 15/10/2014 at 19:46:56 Garbutt really needs more games at this point. If Martinez is not gonna play him, even in Europa League games, then he should go out on loan with a return clause if Baines gets injured. Phil Walling 5 Posted 15/10/2014 at 19:50:29 I think Martinez has little or no faith in our young players. He likes to be seen as an 'international man' who knows all these players from foreign climes. The likes of Garbutt don't interest him... or his agents. Paul Andrews 6 Posted 15/10/2014 at 20:02:07 WhoÂs place do posters think Luke should take in the team? Patrick Murphy 7 Posted 15/10/2014 at 20:01:13 Phil, Even for you, that remark is below the belt. Are you insinuating that RM is only interested in foreign players because it will keep RM's agents happy? If you happen to be correct in that thought, then surely the Board of directors will have him out the door regardless of results. I know you don't like many or indeed any managers and would probably be happy to return of the days when the team was picked by the Captain and a Committee .... Mind you, that's not a bad idea — it would save us a couple of million quid a season. Sam Hoare 8 Posted 15/10/2014 at 20:04:33 Not that international Phil! He's only brought in a handful of players from outside British leagues. Besic, Deulofeu... Can't think of any others. Just 2? Phil Walling 9 Posted 15/10/2014 at 20:45:47 Lukaku, Kone, Traore, Atsu, Robles, Alcaraz and the two you mention all have overseas agents, I believe. Sam Hoare 11 Posted 15/10/2014 at 22:02:28 All those players have come from English clubs though. Except Traore. Who hardly featured. Which makes 3. To be honest I thought when he joined he'd bring in more players from European or even South American clubs.
