Courtney Duffus goes out on loan

Everton Under-21 striker Courtney Duffus has joined Bury on a three-month loan.

The 19 year-old will link up with the Shakers until January.

Bury manager, David Flitcroft, was looking forward to working with another Finch Farm graduate, having signed Hallam Hope on a short-term loan last season.

Flitcroft said: "Courtney is a player we have watched for a while now. We get out to a lot of games and he caught the eye a few weeks ago. We tracked him again last week against a good Wigan Athletic side where he scored a very good goal."

Sam, after losing 5-0 to Shrewsbury, Flitcroft dumped 4 forwards, changed to a 4-5-1 and stuck our lad up front on his own where he hardly saw the ball. On 32 minutes he was alert to a CB misplaced header and raced through on goal. Unfortunately he got caught in two minds and eventually made a mess of trying to round the keeper. Still a kid, his nerves and inexperience counted against him but Flitcroft seemed pleased with his new system and Duffus will probably get other chances.

Big strong lad, ran and ran for 90 minutes in the U18 final against Man City last season. He has lots of potential, deserves to make it in the top flight.
