That is the somewhat outlandish claim by his manager, Roberto Martinez, who continues to display the utmost faith in the future brilliance of his £28m capture from Chelsea.

Got to admire his optimism, he has it in spades.

The lad needs a metaphorical rocket up his what not. Elementary trapping of the ball seems beyond him. Smaller players are able to win the ball in the air. Nais in particular.

Looking at at the way he played, and especially how sharp he was the way he took his goal, maybe just maybe, he is on his way back to his best form of last year.

I think he needs glasses – he either mistimes the jump or is a few yards away from where it finally comes down. His biggest problem is a lack of a mean streak. Too nice of a kid for his own good.

Just seen an absolutely top class striker playing up front on his own and scoring a hat-trick from only three shots to rescue Man City against a far better team this evening.

Aguero should be kept in cotton wool and only let out to play. If big Rom gets anywhere near that little man in ability he will become a legend.

Maybe we should buy Aguero then.

Mike C #5. Can't agree with the lack of a mean streak.

The Lukaku in general play and the Lukaku with the slightest sniff of a goal are two very different people. In the first mode he is an awkward gentle gentleman who has poor ball control and cannot jump for headers. In the latter mode he becomes The Hulk. The transformation is amazing. With the net in his sights Mr Niceguy goes out of the window as he brushes defenders aside like a charging buffalo in order to fire off a shot........and what a shot. The lad has a left foot like a cannon.
