Season › 2014-15 › News U21s beaten by Villarreal Lyndon Lloyd , 11 February, 4comments | Jump to most recent While the senior side played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Everton Under-21s faced Villarreal in their second Premier League International Cup match at Goodison Park but went down 2-1. David Unsworth's side drew with Celtic's Under-21s in their opening Group D match in November and the scheduling of the games around domestic commitments means that the Scottish club has played twice more and lead the table with 7 points. Sylvain Distin was named in the line-up after not travelling with the first-team to London. Everton fell behind very early, with Alfonso Pedraza scoring in only the 3rd minute but David Henen levelled things up with a header in the second half. Francisco Sol restored the visitors' lead, though with 20 minutes to go and that's the way it remained. The Blues' final group game against Sunderland has yet to be scheduled. Everton: Hewelt, Connolly, Galloway, Distin, Kenny, Jones {c}, Ledson, Junior, Dowell, Duffus, Henen Subs: Hunt, Walsh, Langton, Charsley, Dyson, Davies, Green Reader Comments (4) Note: the following content is not moderated or vetted by the site owners at the time of submission.
