Martinez backs Howard

Roberto Martinez refuses to blame Tim Howard for Leicester's goals at Goodison Park on Sunday, insisting that he sees them as team errors that need to be addressed.

He more or less confirmed during his pre-match press conference that the American will be back between the posts when Young Boys come to town tomorrow for the Europa League round of 32 second leg.

“It is not the way I like to work, I don't like to blame people for individual mistakes. We believe massively in the individuals we've got and Tim Howard is a really experienced footballer who should be allowed to do his job.”

But he is not doing his job at the moment Roberto and that is the bleedingly obvious point!

Really, it's not about blame or calling someone out. It's simply a matter of playing players who are in form and can do the job NOW. We are long past the point this season of allowing players (especially a keeper) to work their way through a bad patch. Howard's having a bad season which is costing the club points. It happens and sitting him out in place of keeper who has shown some form should not be considered a personal affront or insult to Howard.

Grown a spine Bobby and stop coddling these so-called professionals.

RM will not grow a spine. What's more likely to happen is for Laughing Boy to feint an injury tonight so Robles gets the gloves back.

The same old crap spouted all the time. His decision to drop an in form Robles for this clown who's been atrocious all season is a sackable offence.

Just clueless, inept management. Why can't he face up to his mistakes?

It's not tonight's game v The boys from Switzerland, that worries me, it's the game at the Emerites Sunday.
Surely Roberto, must have witnessed the uncertainty, in the defence, true it's not all down to Howard, but his juggling antics don't help, and when making saves he has a habit of pushing ball away into the path opposing players.
I just hope that Roberto's statement in press doesn't come back to haunt him.
