Everton Under-21s lost at Middlesbrough as Conor McAleny returned the side following his loan spell with Charlton Athletic.

Bradley Fewster scored the only goal of the game 11 minutes from time, although McAleny came close for the Blues when his shot tipped over by Joe Fryer.

Everton were unable to fashion many chances with the scores still goalless in the second half and Fewster scored late on to secure the points.

McAleny had expected to be turning out for his final game for the Addicks this weekend but his loan was terminated early and h returned to the Blues.

Everton struggled to create many chances after the break and the hosts struck late on to snatch the victory.

Disappointing result for Unsy. Very strong looking team which probably performed like a bunch of individuals. Something you get at U21 level. Everyone trying to impress.

Nice to see Rodriguez getting another 60 minutes. Martinez signed this lad and will wrap him in cotton wool and bring him along slowly. Unsy has already stated that he will gradually bring him up to speed.

No Browning or Jones but captain Kenny could be our next Hibbo. Not always played in his favoured right back position, this lad is very mature for his age and will definitely make the grade.

With Walsh back with the U18s and Grant out on loan, we're running short of clever creativity in midfield.

Harold - is Kenny better at CB or RB? Does he have the pace and strength to cope with the premier league?

What do you think of Ledson?

Dave. Unsy often uses Kenny at CB so he can direct the troops, which he does. He's actually too small for that position but, like Blind of United, his quick thinking enables him to cope.

Age 18 with an old head on his shoulders, he, Ledson and Connolly have a couple of games coming up for the U19s. I hope he gets the right back spot. Ledson, who has been with us since the age of five, was given a three year contract in 2014, a reward which suggests we like him.

Good to see Grant and the Brazilian lad playing the full 90 minutes for Doncaster in their 2-0 FA Cup win. Grant scored a screamer from outside the box. Like Barkley, he does little off the ball but has plenty of class when in possession.

Garbutt played the last 15 minutes for Fulham in their 5-2 defeat by Birmingham. Kit Symonds, the coach who wanted Luke, was sacked soon after.

Russell Griffiths made his goalkeeping debut for Halifax and had 5 banged past him.

Junior was pulled off after 60 minutes during the Wigan 5-0 defeat by Bury.
