Season › 2015-16 › News A-League outfit interested in Stanek Lyndon Lloyd , 19 November, 3comments | Jump to most recent Central Coast Mariners are trying to bring Everton's young Czech 'keeper Jindrich Stanek to Australia but are battling against restrictions on foreign imports. The A-League club have an official player development partnership with the Blues and a recent report suggested that they were looking at bringing over a goalkeeper from the Finch Farm academy to replace Liam Reddy. It's now being suggested by FourFourTwo that Stanek is the man they want but Football Federation Australia rules prohibit domestic clubs from signing foreign signings under the age of 20. Mariners coach Tony Walmsley says that his club have asked FFA for a rule change. "We're working on the Everton link. There's a goalkeeper there available to us," Walmsley said. "The problem is he doesn't meet FFA [regulations] from an age perspective, which we've asked them to revisit. "We're talking about a 19-year-old 'keeper, a Czech international whose not age eligible to be a visa player. He needs to be 20."
