What happened to all of those Liverpool Clubs like Bootle? Are they still around? I guess it's remarkable that Everton still exist as they were just one of many at the time.

The first Bootle, Dave, sadly folded but not without leaving an indelible mark on the history of English Football. They were the club to resign from the Football League shortly before the start of the 1893-94 season and were not replaced on the fixture list. Consequently Division Two was, for the one and only time, contested by an uneven number of clubs – 15.
