Everton's U21s beat Espanyol at the SuperCupNI (formerly the Milk Cup) at Coleraine Showgrounds thanks to Harry Charsley's goal early in the second half.

David Unsworth's men held on to secure the win despite Liam Walsh being shown a red card not long afterwards. Goalkeeper Louis Gray made a vital last-minute save and Baningime followed up with a block to preserve the lead.

The Blues will face the winner of Celtic and Real Sociedad on Saturday at Ballymena Showgrounds.

Liam Walsh is a very good player but will have to curb his temper. He was sent off very early playing for Yeovil at the end of last season and booked a few times for them as well; he seems to let older players wind him up too easily.

Why was he sent off, Dave?

Happy days. The U21s will be playing approx 500 yards from me on Saturday then.

Will give me a chance to see a few of them first hand. I remember seeing Hallum Hope a few years back and thinking he was sharp enough to make it.

Great performance from the lads. Had a lot of defending to do after sending off. Not a great challenge from young Walsh – over-the-top tackle. Red card was the correct decision.

Matty Foulds looks a player and David Henen looked sharp up top. Played wide first half, second half down the middle and caused them problems until the sending off. Then had to change tactics.
