Any off field activities, which are aimed at the Community, are not only to be admired; but it is also good to spread the word; I am not sure if any other Clubs do as much as Everton; would be interesting to know.

What an excellent article, I didn't know we did so much. It's a rather sad fact of life, that sometimes you can't see whats in front of you. The talk on here of millions being paid for players and talk of who we should be buying for millions, is completely overshadowed by this outstanding project.

I wish a few of the moaning gits on here would read this and see the positive side of things.

Truly a magnificent effort by the football club.

Heartfelt thanks from all the poor souls you are helping to rescue from the mean streets.

There are plenty on TW inclined to sneer and scorn EitC and its officers, believing in some way it deflects from the club's core objective: playing football and winning games.

I'm not one of them. I take great pride that the club is actively engaged in social community programs as it is, as well as taking care of former players as they also do.

It doesn't have to be an 'either-or' situation. EitC and Everton FC can and do co-exist happily together, to the benefit of the club and the wider community, as they have done for many years.

This proves to me, that the term "The People's Club" is not used out of context.

Congratulations and thank you to a caring institution, "Everton" is certainly alive and well "in the Community".

Jay@4: I think you're spot on in saying that the two can and do co-exist quite happily together. There are some who scorn and sneer, some who are enthusiastic about EitC, and others who are neither of those. I am of the latter, because I'm interested only in how we do on the pitch.

Charity plays a big part in Everton Football Club and certainly no one can accuse our defenders of not being extremely charitable to the opposition this season.

[7]. Bad taste; not funny.
