Season › 2017-18 › News Merseyside derby moved again Friday, 16 March, 2018 22comments | Jump to most recent Everton's clash with Liverpool at Goodison Park will now kick off at 12:30pm on Saturday 7th April. The game, originally scheduled for 3pm that day, was put back to Sunday the 8th to accommodate live broadcast by Sky Sports but has now been brought forward again because of scheduling for the reds' Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City. The change hasn't gone down well with late breakfaster, Jà¼rgen Klopp, who said: “I'm already angry to be honest because I heard a second ago that the Premier League will put our game against Everton at 12:30 on the Saturday. “I know countries where they move games, that they cancel whole match days so their teams can play in a proper shape. “We play at 7:45 on Wednesday night and play [again] 12:30 on Saturday. The other team plays at 5:30. “Can you imagine how big the difference is in this five hours? It means the world in preparation, in recovery. “Put it on at a normal time and not at breakfast." Disclaimer Clarence Yurcan 1 Posted 16/03/2018 at 15:59:07 Kloppy is already complaining about this, saying "That's not cool." Seriously. James Hughes 2 Posted 16/03/2018 at 16:22:02 I don't give a rat's ass what Kippety has to say or his opinion. Jim Bennings 3 Posted 16/03/2018 at 16:24:03 Sandwiched in between two Champions League Quarter Final legs for Liverpool, the feeling now is we will not get a better chance to end this horrific Merseyside derby record than the upcoming one.For once, Everton, take advantage of a gift horse in front of you. Lawrence Green 4 Posted 16/03/2018 at 16:35:56 It's very strange that Klippety decided to moan about the re-arranged date as Man City play Man Utd on the same day albeit in the evening. I was waiting for the usual 'fair for both clubs' decision by Sky, BT, the FA or whoever runs the game these days that both derby games would be moved to later in the season. It doesn't affect Everton, we continue to have a inferiority complex whenever, wherever we play them in whatever competition. I do hope we beat them though, just to stop the rot against them if nothing else. Joseph Mullarkey 5 Posted 16/03/2018 at 16:38:42 It would seem that five hours are not as substantial as you make out if you consider 12:30pm to still be breakfast time, Herr Klopp.8am is a late brekky for me. John G Davies 6 Posted 16/03/2018 at 16:50:35 Jim @3If the game stayed on the Sunday, Klopp would moan that Man City had an extra day's rest before the second leg. Rob Halligan 7 Posted 16/03/2018 at 17:13:48 Pick a date and time most convenient for you, Mr Klopp, and we will see what we can do?In other words, "Fuck off you moaning piece of red shit". Guy Hastings 8 Posted 16/03/2018 at 17:31:06 He'll put out a reserve XI and guess what... Geoffery Cadman 9 Posted 16/03/2018 at 18:00:17 March 31st Crystal Palace V Liverpool 12:30 Everton V Man City 17:30April 4th Liverpool V Man City 19:45 April 7th Everton V Liverpool 12:30 Man City V Man Utd 17:30April 10th Man City V Liverpool 19:45 Looks like all time Advantage is for the Red Shite. Klipperty loses the Plot again!!! Brian Williams 10 Posted 16/03/2018 at 18:02:42 Had to laugh today on an otherwise "angry" day due to three separate complete fucking idiots dangerously pulling out on me at junctions or at roundabouts within the space of an hour.Listening to Radio City when they interviewed a number of RS supporters to get their views on the Champions League Quarter-final draw. First surprise was that the lad who made me laugh out loud and forget my justified roadrage mood was actually a Scouser, very unusual when the media interview RS fans in general. The lad was asked how he felt about the draw and the fact that Liverpool had drawn Man City.He said "Think we've got a great chance of going through 'coz in a one-off game, especially at Anfield, we can beat anyone." Martin Nicholls 11 Posted 16/03/2018 at 18:06:51 Doesn't early kick off on the Saturday give them an advantage over Man City in "recovery time" for the 2nd leg of their game?? Christy Ring 12 Posted 16/03/2018 at 18:46:36 Would be great to literally kick Klopp and Co off the park. Paul Welsby 13 Posted 16/03/2018 at 19:06:46 The Red Shite could send out their reserves and they would still beat us. Sam will go ultra defensive. Whatever team we send out, they're always shit scared... Until that fear is dragged out of them by a more positive manager, we will always be little old Everton. Michael Lynch 14 Posted 16/03/2018 at 20:14:17 What is Klopp talking about? The match times favour the Red Shite, not Citteh. Tony Abrahams 15 Posted 16/03/2018 at 20:45:30 Klopp even said that, because the game was scheduled for the Sunday, that nobody must have expected Liverpool to still be in the Champions League even though this game had only been given a provisional date, for that very reason! Danny Baily 16 Posted 17/03/2018 at 09:25:32 This is our best chance in a long while. Ultimately counts for very little though. Jack Convery 17 Posted 17/03/2018 at 10:33:04 Cant we reschedule it for 2060 - I wont be around then, Eddie Dunn 19 Posted 17/03/2018 at 11:35:47 Rob halligan. Don't beat about the bush. Phil (Kelsall) Roberts 20 Posted 17/03/2018 at 20:30:53 Can we not be one of the Friday evening games? Thursday evening even better as it is Easter Week and does Sky not want us watching every night? Jamie Evans 21 Posted 21/03/2018 at 11:09:29 I fancy us.Don't ask me why but I do. Rob Young 22 Posted 21/03/2018 at 11:46:33 Klaassen to score the winner in injury time! David Currie 23 Posted 24/03/2018 at 00:10:38 Great news, lads, Williams will be available for selection after his ban??????
