Korede Adedoyin scored four times while Mackenzie Hunt, Ellis Simms and Tom Scully also added their names to the scoresheet to ensure the young Blues returned to winning ways. The hosts got off to perfect start against Newcastle — managed by Everton's FA Cup-winning captain Dave Watson - with Hunt, promoted from the Club's Under-16s side, firing them ahead after just three minutes. Bobby Carroll, also promoted from the Under-16s, fed Simms who saw his low effort saved by Will Brown in the Newcastle goal, but Hunt was on hand to turn home the rebound. Scully drove into the Newcastle box before seeing his attempted pass blocked, but the ball the fell kindly Simms who drove a low effort into the bottom corner of the net. Three minutes later and the young Blues had a third. The visitors failed to clear Scully's corner with Carroll's cross back into the box flicked into the path of Adedoyin who simply couldn't miss from six yards out. The visitors' best chance of the game arrived just before the half-time break. Michael Collins brought down Thomas Cole on the edge of the Blues box and from resulting free-kick Elias Sorensen curled the ball just wide of Harry Tyrer's far post. But a minute into the second half and the hosts put the game firmly out of Watson's side's reach with Adedoyin collecting his second of the afternoon. After dispossessing Lucas Gamblin, the winger drove into the United box before checking back inside and finishing into the bottom corner of the net. Further chances followed for the young Blues with Carroll blazing over before Brown did well to tip Hunt's effort around the post after the right-winger had raced clear. Hunt was powerless in preventing Adedoyin from his hat-trick and the young Blues' fifth of the afternoon, though. Tom Warren and Carroll combined before the latter teed up Adedoyin who side-footed into the far corner of the net. Adedoyin, however, saved his best for last. Picking the ball up, the already hat-trick hero ghosted past three Newcastle defenders before letting fly with a stunning curling effort that flew beyond the reach of the diving Brown and into the far corner of the net. With 10 minutes remaining, Tait's side completed the rout, Scully picking up a goal his performance warranted. The central midfielder saw his free-kick, from around 35 yards out, evade a crowded penalty area including Brown, with the ball nestling into the bottom corner of the net. Everton U18s: Tyrer, Corke ('76 Warnock), Richards, Anderson (75' McKeown), Collins, Scully, Carroll, Warren, Hunt, Simms ('67 Stanley), Adedoyin. Subs not Used: Murphy, Ball. Andy Williams 2 Posted 19/03/2018 at 22:27:41 Cracking last goal. Well worth a watch. Jay Wood[BRZ] 3 Posted 19/03/2018 at 23:00:22 A link to the goals for anyone interested.I know it's only 3 minute highlights, but I wouldn't be backing any of the Newcastle lads of making a career in the game!Let's just say they didn't make much of an effort and none of them looked the least bit arsed with any of the goals they conceded.
