Kevin Mirallas will spend the 2018-19 season in Serie A after his season-long loan to Fiorentina was confirmed this afternoon.

Despite making a bright start to pre-season, the 30-year-old was ultimately deemed surplus to requirements in Marco Silva's squad for the coming campaign.

Unconfirmed reports in Italy have suggested that Everton will receive a loan fee of around €500,000 and La Viola have an option to make Mirallas's move permanent next summer for around £7m.

Mirallas spent the last few months of last season at his old club Olympiakos but did not enjoy a happy reunion with the Greek side, returning to Merseyside early after a series of poor performances.

Frees up the #8 shirt for Bernard, getting any fee was a result.

Let's hope there's a clause in the contract that if he downs tools early or goes into a sulk for any reason he cannot come back before the whole season is over.
It's such a shame, bags of talent yet never gave one hundred percent on the pitch.

Would have liked to see him as a striker. He's so selfish you wonder if he would have excelled there. But hey ho

Bolasie and Morgan and Niasse next please.

Just over a year ago Mirallas was given a brand new contract to keep him at Everton until 2020. Just six months later, he joined Olympiacos on loan and now he's joined Fiorentina on loan. So who made that decision to give him that contract??? Typical Everton.

Wonder if he was another smart arse who thought he was better than he was? If so, never good for squad motivation.

With a better attitude, he coulda" been a contender. Was excellent in his first Derby before Suarez did his ankle and we rarely saw that talent again.

Getting rid of Mirallas is like a new signing.

He was always a striker before he came to us. Moyes converted him to a winger, but he never really looked happy there. Always wanted to cut in onto his right foot rather than provide for others. Don't think he was good enough to play striker. His biggest asset was pace but a nearly man.

Agree Liam #8. Was unplayable that day until the dirty rodent did him.

A quality player who failed to deliver consistently. I will never forget the penalty shenanigans against The Baggies, absolutely disgraceful! Somebody should have got hold of him and told him 'Bainesey takes the penalties!'

Really have to give it to Brands (And Moshiri).

No messing about since the Window opening. Players flying in both directions. Fingers crossed, it's looking like Moshiri has actually hired the ruthless player-personnel man we needed.

Excited to see what we have tomorrow morning.

The very poor mans Hazard. Thought he was as good as Hazard too. Hope it works for him better than it did Kanchelkis.

So this is why we gave him a new contract!
