Bassala Sambou gave Everton a first-half lead from the penalty spot after Josh Bowler was brought down following a fine surge into the penalty area midway through the first half. The Seagulls struck back with two goals either side of the hour-mark to turn the game on its head. However, the young Blues fought back to earn a share of the spoils as Ellis Simms, elevated from the Under-18s, finished from close-range after coming off the bench. Disclaimer Kevin Prytherch 1 Posted 21/09/2018 at 09:40:17 That's a very young team for this type of competition. No Virginia, Browning, Galloway, Evans, Gibson or Hornby... Sam Hoare 2 Posted 21/09/2018 at 09:56:27 Virginia has not featured for U23s for a while after a great start. Perhaps he is injured? Plus some of the other U23s played only a few nights ago. David Cash 3 Posted 21/09/2018 at 13:42:26 Did alright. A good experience. Michael Kenrick 4 Posted 21/09/2018 at 17:26:38 That is a strange team, with a few U-18s...I wonder if this competition also has its own peculiar age requirements? Kieran Kinsella 5 Posted 22/09/2018 at 02:37:37 The u23 seems to change drastically from game to game. John Raftery 6 Posted 22/09/2018 at 09:33:46 The competition allows three overage outfield players and an overage keeper. As far as I can see there are no other age stipulations for what is an Under-23 gig.Simms, aged 18, has already scored eight goals in five games for the Under-18s. That record has earned him a fast track to the Under-23s. Dave Abrahams 7 Posted 22/09/2018 at 20:58:22 Does anyone know what time the Everton U23 game versus Spurs tomorrow at Goodison kicks off?
