Bobby Carroll signs first pro forms

Bobby Carroll is the latest of Everton's Academy products to sign his first contract with the club.

The 17-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on an 18-month deal this week.

Carroll graduated from the U-16s with a few appearances for the Under-18s toward the end of last season, and has consolidated his place in the first-eleven at that level with 15 appearances — the most of any players at that level — so far this season.

The best midfielder in our U18s and only a first-year Scholar. A bit on the small side, but he more than makes up for it around the pitch.

Good luck, Bobby. Just give 100% on the training pitch and in every game and hopefully you will make it. Work on passing the ball 3 or more yards to a team mate and you could soon win a place in our first team!

ps: David # 1, the time to panic is if you see a horsebox with a West Ham crest on it heading in the direction of Finch Farm.

Phil (2), yes, I liked him in the game versus Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup, put himself about and always looked interested in the game, a lot of them switched off after we took a 2-0 lead but not this lad.

I think he got injured in the next round versus Stoke and went off with a shoulder injury, I've only seen him that one time but told myself he was one to keep an eye on.
