Not a bad draw, but as always not to be taken for granted, at least we have avoided the so called big guns, this the good thing about these Draws there will be upsets along the way, just make sure we're not one of them.

Gradually the numbers whittle down as the Competition progresses, luckily the 'big guns' will be contending with Europe as well and will prioritise that over this Cup. Just have to hope the draws continue to be kind to us, but let's beat these first.

And Wednesday, on the evidence so far, will be fighting for promotion and likely prioritise that in their team selection...

Tough but winnable game. Obvious memories of those old replays.

We have seen today though that we can make multiple changes and still control the game. Thats progress. We will have some top players unable to make our bench.

I really liked the desire shown tonight, and that includes the attitude of our subs.

My addled brain says 07-08 we won 2-0 at Wednesday in the League Cup. McFadden (2) I think? Got drawn away in every round until the two-legged semi-final with Chelsea. SWP out jumping Lescott; devastating.

My great memory of playing there was on a New Years day and it was fucken freezing.

We had Ian Wilson on the left up against Mel Sterland their right back. I have never felt so sorry for a guy wearing a blue top as I did that day. Sterland just ran through and over him all match a bit like Jonah Lomu did to the England Rugby Union team.

Ian Wilson, now there was a player – not. I was there too for the League Cup final replay which ended in a draw v Villa.

Just thought we played in yellow shirts not blue. Sorry, it's just me getting old.

This is another game that will require a full team.

Hopefully we can navigate this because round three is usually where we fall flat on our arse.

Another old-fashioned Cup tie in the making here too. Glad we're away from home as well, will be a battle but we can win this one in 90 minutes too.

Always rated the lad Reach, he can put in decent crosses all day long, but with our new firepower up-top we should get through okay.

I went to that game and was on one of the coaches that got there for half time. Second half was crap but we still enjoyed it.

We actually play Sheffield United at home prior to the trip Wednesday. I believe Sheffield United away is the last away game, excluding the trip to Wembley in May of course.

Hopefully we'll get a big allocation and should generate a cracking atmosphere. I fancy us strongly to progress.

Jimmy #14 - I think it was the "posh buses" Amberline that got there at half time. A few of us bunked off from school a couple of hours early (including a couple of RS fans "for the craic") and went with Barnes Travel - delays getting through Manchester, we missed Sharp's first goal, but got on that fateful terrace in time to see Heath race through for the 2nd.

My dad taped the highlights for me, and Howard Wilkinson's interview at the end - (Interviewer) "But Howard, you lost 5-0?", Wilkinson "Oh I don't know, it'll bring the crowds back won't it?"
