The 23-year-old striker, who represented Everton at youth level and was an Under-23s regular before he was released in June last year, tweeted the unfortunate news yesterday. Dyson had joined Plymouth Argyle but was unable to win a two-year battle with the ankle problem he originally sustained while he was still with Everton. Disclaimer Duncan McDine 1 Posted 17/10/2019 at 07:33:38 If I'm honest, I hadn't heard of him (or maybe it's just my memory failing), but this must be a devastating thing for a young pro to come to terms with. I hope Dylan is not sucked into the vacuum of booze and drugs like so many other young injured footballers (apologies for the tasteless pun). Duncan McDine 2 Posted 17/10/2019 at 07:34:34 ‘Dyson'! Effing spell assist Liam Reilly 3 Posted 17/10/2019 at 09:09:12 There'll be some dark days ahead for this kid; (the what ifs and why me) hopefully he gets the right level of support he needs. Steve Ferns 4 Posted 17/10/2019 at 09:57:00 He looked a sure bet to have a football league career and one stage could have expected to be in the top two divisions. Very tough on the lad. I wish him lots of luck. Filipe Torres 5 Posted 17/10/2019 at 13:02:39 I would sugest a footballing career in coaching/management.Learning the trade while still being around the football pitch would be an obvious way out. Kieran Kinsella 6 Posted 17/10/2019 at 15:38:28 DuncanHe was in the under 18 group with Callum Connolly, Liam Walsh, Nathan Broadhead, Kieran Dowell, Kenny etc. Good group. As Steve said, it seemed as if he was a good player, but probably not quite at the premier league level. Really sad to see his career end so early. Paul Hewitt 7 Posted 17/10/2019 at 18:12:27 Sad news. But good luck in whatever he goes on too. Dan Humphrey 8 Posted 21/10/2019 at 19:38:04 Well, I've seen the lad play a few times for my beloved Mariners, and he looked a prospect, as said above perhaps for lower leagues, or even non-league. He was tall energetic quite physical but still had a lot to learn. Thought he would benefit from some game time at Plymouth, but not sure he ever played for them. Shame he hasn't got his chance, wish him luck going forward.
