Disclaimer Fran Mitchell 1 Posted 17/11/2019 at 17:43:28 We have finally won a Derby at Anfield. Ok, It was the Women's Everton, but pickers can't be choosers. 1-0 at Anfield, the hoodoo has been lifted, of course the men needed the women to show them how it is done. David Pearl 2 Posted 17/11/2019 at 17:51:42 Yes voodoo is broken. Obviously we will beat them 1 nil also in a few weeks. Just have to pick the scorer now. Ian Jones 3 Posted 17/11/2019 at 18:08:40 Good to see Liverpool at the bottom of the league :)Here's the goal for anyone that's interested...Link Kevin Molloy 4 Posted 17/11/2019 at 18:20:52 puts me in mind of Ratters goal at the same end. Tony Twist 5 Posted 17/11/2019 at 18:54:07 Very well done. The girls showing the boys up. Now for these overpaid first team men to follow up this very important victory with a win at Anfield. It is a disgraceful record that needs to be ripped up, no excuses. Jim Bennings 6 Posted 17/11/2019 at 20:11:35 The women have bigger balls than the men's team!! Tony Abrahams 7 Posted 17/11/2019 at 20:23:23 what a great crowd that was 23500 fantastic, with an even better picture at the top of the page, with the players celebrating in front of the away end, and thanks for that link Ian, we just need the men to watch it now, followed by “Big Jim†telling them they all better grow a pair of cajones for Anfield in 3 weeks time! Simon Smith 8 Posted 17/11/2019 at 20:25:51 Jim, probably literally in some cases. Paul Hewitt 9 Posted 17/11/2019 at 20:35:33 Well, I wouldn't expect Allison to be so generous. Rudy Chinchilla 10 Posted 17/11/2019 at 20:35:40 I watched the full game and we scraped by today. Liverpool dominated and we got a flukey goal. Curious to know if that's the level we play at every game on the women's side. Glad nonetheless that we won a derby 🪠Dave Williams 11 Posted 17/11/2019 at 21:04:45 Any win at that dump is worth celebrating- well done ladies you've shown the men it can be done and in front of a decent crowd too! Les Newsham 12 Posted 18/11/2019 at 00:46:47 Can Everton Women do the double over them? Can the men do the double too? God that'd be near on perfect. Graham Williams 13 Posted 18/11/2019 at 09:02:22 Anyone know why Chloe Kelly wasn't playing - presumably injured? Ray Roche 14 Posted 18/11/2019 at 09:10:15 Funny, the BBC didn't mention it or show the goal this morning. Is it me, or would they have shown it if the RS had won? Brian Harrison 15 Posted 18/11/2019 at 09:14:53 Graham 13I heard that the reason Chloe Kelly wasnt playing is she had been sent off in the previous game, so was ineligible to play. Rob Halligan 16 Posted 18/11/2019 at 10:19:59 One of two saying the curse of an Everton team not winning at Anfield has finally been broken. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the U23s win there last season, 2-0 I think it was? Brian Williams 17 Posted 18/11/2019 at 10:21:06 Ray#14.Ray, not only would they have showed the goal but they'd have broadcast live the fucking open topped bust tour round the city.Bitter, me? GTF! :-) Jay Wood[BRZ] 18 Posted 18/11/2019 at 10:25:25 Correct Rob. And they were lucky it was only 2-0.Anthony Gordon and the Blues were on fire that night. John Raftery 19 Posted 18/11/2019 at 13:41:30 A mate of mine took his ten year old granddaughter. He said it was football as it used to be. No diving, no deafening tannoy, no VAR, no stupid halftime entertainment, a 23,500 crowd and an Everton win at Anfield. This sport could become very popular. Tony Hill 20 Posted 18/11/2019 at 14:31:56 John @19, oh God the half-time "entertainment". Please make it stop. Stan Schofield 21 Posted 18/11/2019 at 14:40:10 John@19: That's probably only because there's no big money in it. If and when it ever becomes as popular and money-permeated as the men's game, all that would likely change and we'd have diving and all kinds of other cheating. Cheating knows no gender boundaries. John Raftery 22 Posted 18/11/2019 at 16:38:15 Stan (21) You are probably right. I was in a crowd of 624 at a National League match on Saturday afternoon similarly untainted by the trappings of ‘Big Event' mania. Fans could celebrate goals without wondering if VAR would intrude. I envied them.Tony (20) I would support a campaign to outlaw half-time entertainment! Stan Schofield 23 Posted 18/11/2019 at 17:02:25 John, yes, that kind of thing is refreshing compared with all the nonesense that surrounds men's top level football. Even the way folks talk about is different. When women's football is discussed, it generally sounds normal and mature, whereas so much commentary on men's football is cringeworthy and childish, the BBC being a prime example. Jack Convery 24 Posted 18/11/2019 at 21:09:31 F me an Everton team wins at mordor and their goalie cocks up for the goal. Does this mean the curse is finally lifted ? well done ladies ! Paul Birmingham 25 Posted 18/11/2019 at 23:33:11 Great win, and a tonic for EFC. At least the ladies gave it their all and shot from distance for the winner. Now to beat Norwich and go on an unbeaten run! One game at a time and let's see which team and mindset turns up on Saturday.
