Disclaimer Mike Oates 1 Posted 19/09/2020 at 16:58:31 2-2 apparently Phill Thompson 2 Posted 19/09/2020 at 20:27:36 That really is a great result, 2-2, against what is a very good Man City team, 1-0 down then 2-1 up shows there's fight there too. We're putting together a highly competitive team at this level, though it may change when loans occur and a few move up to U23s. It'll be interesting to see just how many people read and comment on this match, the largest number of comments I've seen was all those coming on to criticise when we lost 8-2 to Man City in the pre-season friendly! Brent Stephens 3 Posted 19/09/2020 at 20:31:31 Phill, I always read the report though don't always comment. Sounds like a good result. Dave Abrahams 4 Posted 19/09/2020 at 21:05:22 Is Bobby Carroll injured, I'm presuming he is still young enough for the U18s? Phill Thompson 5 Posted 19/09/2020 at 21:22:12 Brent, I wasn't so much knocking the number of comments, we don't get to see much actual U18 footage so it is difficult to comment on a match, it was the number of negative comments generated because we'd lost 8-2 in a friendly, some of them were completely over the top. Dave, Bobby Carroll along with Mackenzie Hunt have moved up to U23s now, too old for U18. I've only seen Hunt's name mentioned in the U23s friendlies, so Carroll may well be injured. They're playing on Monday, but we may have to wait for some of the older players to be moved on loan or sold to see them in the U23s. Robert Tressell 6 Posted 21/09/2020 at 07:19:51 Phill - I always read these and look for your comments. Seems like we have quality at this level. Lost track but the club seems to be rewarding thr best with long deals. Whittaker last week? Phill Thompson 7 Posted 21/09/2020 at 17:57:37 Robert, yes we're now regularly signing them up as soon as they turn 17. The latest today is Reece Welch, a tall classy centre back, and I think the best of the bunch of 5 CBs we have at u18.
