Season › 2020-21 › News Everton U18s seal a win at Blackburn Rovers Michael Kenrick Saturday, 16 January, 2021 3comments | Jump to most recent Blackburn Rovers U18s 1 - 2 Everton U18s With the U18 Premier League resuming after an extended Christmas break, goals from Katia Kouyate and Charlie Whitaker were enough to put the Blues in the driving seat. A first-half opener from Katia Kouyate was enough to give the young Blues the lead at half-time. And, despite an equaliser from the hosts early into the second half, Charlie Whitaker bagged his third goal of the season just past the hour mark to give Paul Tait's side all three points. Some new names coming off the bench for Everton: Roman Quintyne, Issac Heath and Jenson Metcalfe. Everton U18s: Leban, Mallon, Small (27' Quintyne [Y:]), Hagan, Thompson, Butterfield, Whitaker, Jagne (80' Heath), Kouyate, McAllister [Y: ] (90+2' Metcalfe), Warrington. Disclaimer Michael Kenrick Editorial Team 1 Posted 16/01/2021 at 23:11:33 Interesting to see that Seedy Jagne, the new player we got in from Sweden, who was a part of the U23s, has now played in 3 of the last 4 Under-18 games. Looks like a backward step, as far as I can tell from the raw stats. I updated the U18s page and, in addition to Dobbin, who is out for the rest of the season, there were a few regulars missing from today's line-up (Campbell, Higgins, Price, Cannon), so it's good to see them get the win. Paul Birmingham 2 Posted 16/01/2021 at 00:01:47 Always good to see any Everton team win, and to win away at Blackburn is good. Interesting times for mankind and football, but a win is always good, and the foundation blocks of the club remain solid in terms of the ambition. Phill Thompson 3 Posted 17/01/2021 at 11:48:47 Michael, it's nice to see the three newcomers who are schoolboys getting game time.Heath is a midfielder who was on the bench in the last u18 game, I don't think he got on though but can't remember seeing a team sheet after the match.Roman Quintyne has played for England U15s; at one time, he was in the same squad as Thierry Small, which sometimes happens if they are in different school years. He was down then as a midfielder.
