Everton U18s secured a fine win at Wolves with a team that included a number of young players who are on the fast-track to stardom at Everton Academy.
After Roman Quintyne had unfortunately turned the ball into his own net to give the home side the lead in the first half, Tom Cannon and Rafael Garcia took command of proceedings with goals either side of half-time.
Three young players new to this level — Saja Manafa, Emilio Lawrence and Coby Ebere — came on as second-half subs for Everton, with Lawrence at 15 years old, getting his name on the scoresheet with Everton's final goal.
Everton U18s: Leban, Quintyne, Lowey, Kristensen, Campbell, Metcalfe, McAllister, Jagne, Cannon (70' Lawrence), Garcia (70' Ebere), Barker (84' Manafa).
Subs not Used: Stewart. Tierney.

The club tend not to talk too much about the younger Schoolboys, so I'm not sure who the 2nd 15-year-old who came on is. I'm sure we'll track it down.
Edit: the 2nd 15-year-old forward who came on is I believe Corby Ebere. Another new name coming on was 16-year-old Saf Manafa

The wonderful EC website, as informative as ever. No report, no teamsheet, and if you check two of the three subs, they're listed as 'Trialist' – with no names provided.
I've been too busy thus far this season to do my age check of the academy squads, but I might add that in here soon when I update the season record. Could be some interesting comparisons...
