Season › 2020-21 › News Everton Academy goalkeeper Nico Hansen joins Swansea City Monday, 28 June, 2021 1comment | Jump to most recent Everton academy goalkeeper, Nico Defreitas-Hansen, has joined Swansea City on a free transfer, subject to international clearance, after his contract with the Blues expired. Defreitas-Hansen joined Everton as a 16-year-old, and went on to sign his first professional contract with the club in the summer of 2019. The 19-year-old, who was born in Florida, struggled to compete with Harry Tryer at the lower levels. DeFreitas-Hansen has signed a 1-year contract, with the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months. The teenager has represented the United States at under-14, under-15 and under-16 level, but also qualifies to play for Brazil and Denmark, and he has been capped by the latter's under-19 side.
