Season › 2021-22 › General Forum TW Golf Day Charity Appeal book auction. By Stephen Vincent 05/10/2021 Share: Tidying my cupboards, I find that I have a spare signed copy of Pat Nevin's autobiography. I am putting this up for auction with proceeds going to the ToffeeWeb Golf Day, Cancer Research charity appeal. The price on the book is £20 so I think bids over £25 should be the starting point. I am guessing that postage will be on the order of £4. However, should the winning bid be over £50, I will pay the postage myself. Payment will be direct to Derek Knox's charity appeal account and the book will be despatched immediately after Derek receives the funds. The book is brand new and signed on the fly leaf. If anyone wishes to bid but does not want to do so on this thread, please email me at stephenvincent389@gmail.com and I will post the bid anonymously. Bids should be in round £s. In the interests of inclusion, if any of ToffeeWeb's non-UK readers wish to bid, the postage offer still stands. Remember this is for charity so please be exceptionally generous. The auction will end a week today: 12 October at midnight. Could I also remind all those who made a pledge a couple of weeks ago, that they should be redeemed by contacting Derek Knox for bank details. Despite some very generous donations, the appeal is still a little way short of the £1,000 target. Disclaimer Neil Copeland 1 Posted 05/10/2021 at 21:54:21 Hi Stephen, can I start the bidding please at £30? Thanks, Neil Stephen Vincent 2 Posted 05/10/2021 at 21:55:46 Thanks Neil much appreciated. Derek Knox 3 Posted 05/10/2021 at 00:07:44 Stephen, Thanks for doing this as the Fund is doing well (ish) but it has been down to just a few in addition to the Golf Day who have contributed, some very significantly, but many who have pledged in the pre-run to The Get-Together either never turned up or didn't honour their promised intentions.Neil, sorry you couldn't make The Bramley Moore, as we always seem to have good natter, drink, and a shared propensity for missing the last trains. Very magnanimous of you to kick the auction off, as you are aware it is for a very good cause. Hopefully one we will never have to thank even more from another perspective, so I won't even go there. Neil Copeland 4 Posted 06/10/2021 at 23:09:47 Hi Derek, I hope you are well. Yes, really sorry I couldn't make it to The Bramley Moore. As I posted on another thread, I had to choose between Goodison Park and the ToffeeWeb get-together due to work commitments. Obviously a very close call though!I am already looking forward to the next one though. Great cause, mate, I agree – and the least I can do to try and help a little. Derek Knox 5 Posted 09/10/2021 at 06:11:14 Neil, in case you didn't see it on the other thread, my email is del_kath@yahoo.co.uk where I can furnish you with the Account details should you wish to make a donation, which, I may add will be more than welcome, and should get us ever nearer to that magic total of £1,000. Neil Copeland 6 Posted 10/10/2021 at 21:35:39 Derek, cheers for the information and I will contact you in the next few days Stephen Vincent 7 Posted 12/10/2021 at 17:28:11 A reminder, there is just about 6 hours left on the auction for the signed Pat Nevin autobiography the only bid to date is £30. All proceeds to the TW Golf Day charity appeal. Given that the price of the book is £20 I would have thought that the auction would have raised more.Come on blues be generous. Danny O’Neill 8 Posted 12/10/2021 at 17:38:05 Where's the link, Stephen? Dale Self 9 Posted 12/10/2021 at 17:58:33 Good on you Danny! Stephen Vincent 10 Posted 13/10/2021 at 16:21:20 Neil, As you were the only bid, please email me your address on stephenvincent389@gmail.com and as soon as Derek tells me he has your £30, I will put the book in the post to you. Thanks for your support mate, much appreciated.
