Disclaimer Rob Halligan 1 Posted 20/11/2021 at 13:00:50 Chelsea 2-0 up at Leicester after 30 minutes. I keep reading that Leicester are improving and it's only a matter of time before they start climbing the table. Someone wake me up when that starts happening!! Dale Self 2 Posted 20/11/2021 at 13:13:48 Yes, just tie him to a tree and call him Brenda as Viv Stanshall would say. Just started watching and I hope Lookme is failing Danny O’Neill 3 Posted 20/11/2021 at 13:26:00 Up with the US crew at 6:30 am for this one. Tim Howard "punditing" on NBC.Massive fan of Rudiger. I wish we had a centre-back of that calibre. Great defensive recovery and block to stop a certain tap in followed by an immense header for the goal.Kante is a Rolls-Royce Gueye.Chelsea looking strong. Leicester's game plan not working. They need to change it but I'm not sure they can as they're pretty one-dimensional. Dale Self 4 Posted 20/11/2021 at 13:44:03 No Tielemans no possession. At least they had the good sense to take Lookme off at HT Rob Halligan 5 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:00:19 3-0. The happy clappers of Leicester will certainly not be using their clappers now!! Dale Self 6 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:01:04 Ugly 0-3... taxi for Brenda! Danny O’Neill 7 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:05:39 Best thing about that 3rd goal was the clever little run from Pulisic.Could be a long last 15 for Leicester unless Chelsea take their foot off. Champions League fixture coming up?Did I hear Rodgers linked with United? Rob Halligan 8 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:14:00 Don't know about taking their foot off the pedal, Danny. They've had three goals disallowed for offside since scoring the third. Danny O’Neill 9 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:16:00 I know Robert!! They do it with ease though, plus Leicester just want the whistle.Great movement again, this time by James, for one of the disallowed goals. Rob Halligan 10 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:17:08 Deffo, Daniel!! Danny O’Neill 11 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:20:42 Touche! Rob Halligan 12 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:23:41 Well that was a very comfortable win for Chelsea. Mendy made two good saves in the second half which were definitely saves for the camera!! Chelsea looking very strong and probably favourites for the title this season. Tony Abrahams 13 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:33:26 Anyone else think that Chelsea work so much harder from the front when Lukaku is not playing? Danny O’Neill 14 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:35:08 Have to agree with that ROB.Interesting as only 2 weeks ago I heard a pundit "expert" claiming it was only realistically between Liverpool & City. Can't even remember which one, it's just all noise when most of them speak.Chelsea really landed on their feet with getting Tuchel. Dale Self 15 Posted 20/11/2021 at 14:59:32 Villa, a new team to despise. C'mon Seagulls! And agreed, Tony, he's more suited for Serie A. Danny O’Neill 16 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:06:37 Chelsea's movement off the ball was fantastic and off the ball is where you do the hard work.Oh to see a marauding centre-back carry the ball from one 18-yard box to the other and drive the team forward.Due to very close family connections, Dale: No comment, your Honour. Dale Self 17 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:10:56 You get a pass, Danny, Family. Connections require diplomacy. Brian Murray 18 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:13:32 Danny. Any of your family members at the 3 games against Aston Villa in the 1977 League Cup Final? I went to all three, riding shotgun in dad's black Hackney, believe it or not. First and last time I cried over Everton. Although, the same year, I very nearly – in the FA Cup Semi-Final Replay vs them shower, after getting robbed by that twat idiot ref. I think we are all mentally scarred, one way or another. Brent Stephens 19 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:13:36 Just read a few letters in the Grauniad about the death of the sports writer, David Lacey. One recalls when he described Trevor Steven as "Stakhanovite" (an exceptionally hard-working or zealous person)! Now that would be one to work into the Live Forum. Stakhanovite! Brian Murray 20 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:15:20 Brent. Maybe a song in there. I'd rather be a Stakhanovite than a kopite! 😳🧠Brian Murray 21 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:18:15 Lots of great players over the years don't make it as managers but I think Viera might have something about him. Very early days but I've just got a feeling he's the next Pep etc. Dale Self 22 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:20:15 Stack 'em up Brent! I'd take a Stoichkovite. Rob Halligan 23 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:30:33 Josh King fires Watford ahead. Brent Stephens 24 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:31:20 And an obituary in The Grauniad recalls when that other great football writer, Frank Keating, said "I'm coming to the cup final with you, David". Lacey, who apparently wasn't keen on the company of other Guardian writers at big games, replied "Very nice for you, Frank". Subtle. And when Paddy Barclay told him he was leaving, having been offered the number one football job elsewhere, Lacey (according to Barclay) said "It's the end of an earache, Paddy"! Stephen Vincent 25 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:44:50 Watford 2 up. Rob Halligan 26 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:46:43 Could be Ole's final game in charge, Stephen. Mike Gaynes 27 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:50:26 Think so, Rob? Who do you figure gets the job next? Bill Gall 28 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:52:45 Watford should be ahead by more. I turned over watched Wolves v West Ham. Wolves the better side. Rob Halligan 29 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:53:12 Think Brendan Rodgers is one of the favourites, Mike. Could go for Pochettino as well. Rob Halligan 30 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:54:08 Watford missed a penalty as well. Mike Gaynes 31 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:56:10 Rodgers does seem likely, Rob. Leicester clearly is going nowhere this year. Not sure why, but they've lost their mojo. Dale Self 32 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:57:06 After making all those appearances in the stands, Flick is probably miffed that he's not being mentioned. Mike Gaynes 33 Posted 20/11/2021 at 15:59:25 Flick? Danny O’Neill 34 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:00:45 I doubt it was them, Brian! That match is probably one of my earliest recollections apart from my first matches.Ole has to be gone; even if they make a comeback of some sort, you can't see anything else given the run of results they've had since October.I said earlier and did hear Rodgers linked. I think a lot of Man Utd fans would find that underwhelming when they look at their rivals with Pep, Tuchel and Klopp.I thought Villa v Brighton was an entertaining half. Brighton edged it. I do like Bissouma. Good at spotting danger and breaking play up. Dale Self 35 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:12:20 I'm not saying he is the hands-down favourite. Just that he was putting himself out there rather visibly. Mike Gaynes 36 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:16:34 He just wanted a beer, Dale. That was some finish by Raul. No backlift, just snap from 18 and side netting. Bill Gall 37 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:18:29 Good game this Wolves v West Ham. Wolves have been the better side and deserve to be ahead. Jim Bennings 38 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:24:01 Brentford will be a real handful for us next week, but how big in the context of the season will that game be for us next Sunday in West London? Rob Halligan 39 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:28:28 Maguire sent off. Looks like Ole's final nail has finally been hammered. Danny O’Neill 40 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:45:49 Many rate Potter; I was nervous when linked with him. Nice football. Easy on the eye. Lots of possession. No end product.I'm thinking a less charismatic Eddie Howe. Another English Martinez? Can we have Bissouma for Christmas? Well January! Dale Self 41 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:47:44 Oh well. Mrs Danny will be happy. Rob Halligan 42 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:51:22 See ya Ole! Mike Gaynes 43 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:52:25 Classic Traore. Spectacular 60-yard run with the ball, powering through the tackle, doesn't pass to two wide-open teammates -- just shoots into the leg of the defender. Rob Halligan 44 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:54:52 Watford get another. 4-1. Rob Halligan 45 Posted 20/11/2021 at 16:57:31 Fire sale at Old Trafford this January. Who will be available? Mike Hughes 46 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:00:18 It's tightening up in the bottom half of the table. The sooner we get Calvert-Lewin back, the better. I'm getting concerned looking at the next few games. Danny O’Neill 47 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:00:58 No comment, Dale.Who watched Wolves v West Ham? Talk of the Irons going 2nd before kick-off. Classic choke or unlucky? Mike Gaynes 48 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:03:08 Just a really strong home effort by Wolves, Danny. Geoff Lambert 49 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:04:17 We are now 2 points off the bottom five and not many points coming before Christmas. In serious trouble now. Danny O’Neill 50 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:05:24 Or 3 points of 7th Geoff?NBC coverage shows all the goals of all the matches straight after the covered match, which is great.Although they play some kind of odd Jurassic Park music in the background under the remarks of the pundits. Very dramatic sounding!! Bill Gall 51 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:05:27 I watched most of the game, Danny, and Wolves were the better team for most of the game. The goal was well worked, and overall West Ham never even deserved a draw. Rob Halligan 52 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:05:54 Serious injury to Ogbonna who has been playing well in the heart of their defence Danny. One or two more injuries and they will start to plummet. Let's see how they can cope with a few injuries if anymore occur? Danny O’Neill 53 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:40:35 Thanks both.Looking elsewhere, not sure if that's back down to reality for Newcastle or time for concern for us next week!! Dale Self 55 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:43:03 Arsenal look like Mikel did his homework early on. Pat Kelly 56 Posted 20/11/2021 at 17:47:26 Looks like Ole will beat Rafa to the sack. By a few weeks. Rob Halligan 57 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:04:14 Arteta totally lost it, after a bad challenge by Mane on Saka Rob Halligan 58 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:04:17 Arteta totally lost it, after a bad challenge by Mane on Saka Dale Self 59 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:05:56 That was good but where is the card for Mane? That is twice he did that wit no chance for the ball Michael Kenrick 60 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:07:35 I don't mind Ramsdale becoming England No 1 if he keeps a clean sheet tonite. And great to see Arteta giving Klopp the Eye! Michael Kenrick 61 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:10:04 Trouble is... Liverpool are getting closer... and they score. Fuck! Rob Halligan 62 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:10:36 FFS, keeper should have saved that. Eugene McLoughlin 63 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:11:12 Nothing changes, cheating bastards to the core! Kieran Kinsella 64 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:12:01 Arteta and Klopp are embarrassing acting tough. As ferocious as the Moyes - Mancini fight. Pair of wimps. Colin Glassar 65 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:28:45 The co-commentator (Beglin), and the studio talking heads, make me wanna puke!! Take any deluded Koppite and have them talk shite and they'd sound more neutral than these overpaid gobshites. Danny O’Neill 66 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:36:09 I've watched Arteta a few times this season. Is it me or is he trying too hard to be overly like Pep with his constant animation swirling of the hand and shouting? I can't remember the game, but the were something like 3 - 0 in the 88th minute and he was still doing all that stuff.Occasionally, calm down man, take a step back and take time to assess the game! Bill Gall 67 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:36:32 I can't believe it! At half time, Michael Owen said he didn't think that Mane's tackle on Saka was a bad tackle...! Why do they insist on biased pundits? Rob Halligan 68 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:40:28 FFS, absolute kamikaze play by Arsenal. Dale Self 69 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:41:02 That was retarded after some prolonged madness in their own third. Colin Glassar 70 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:44:37 Bill, the rs PR machine is all pervasive. They've infiltrated, over the years, every aspect of the media and it's become a continuous brainwashing operation. Bill Gall 71 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:45:23 How come we never seem to get them mistakes from the opposition when we need it??? Tony Abrahams 72 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:51:08 Because we don't work from the front as hard as Liverpool, and because the opposition don't play into our hands as much as Arsenal are doing, Bill. This game was exactly the same very early last season without the crowd, and I smiled after that game listening to quite a few Reds thinking they were invincible, simply because the opposition had made it way too easy for their team. Danny O’Neill 73 Posted 20/11/2021 at 18:58:47 They force them out of the opposition Bill. It might look like a mistake and ultimately is / way, but sheer tenacity and on the foot front work rate forces the error(s).Don't get me wrong, we can't go trying that tomorrow, you need the players, fitness levels and players with sheer desire. Bill Gall 74 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:05:23 So much for the Arsenal myth. Arsenal are lucky it is only 4 Danny O’Neill 75 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:08:21 Collapse on the cards. I know they ki d of have already but this good get bad. The duracels are all over them like a rash every time they get the ball. Bill Gall 76 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:09:32 Danny I think they force the error's as they trust the players behind them. Brian Murray 77 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:09:58 Danny. Surely we should have at least two of the three prerequisites. I thought Benitez teams where renowned for fitness and desire and dare I say it belief. That last one is foreign to us definitely. Granted we haven't their level of players for now. Let's hope the next two windows sees at least four gone and some quality in. Fckin depressing looking at them. Bobby Mallon 78 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:10:02 The Arse is being spanked. Jim Bennings 79 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:10:53 Just on a side note here but I'd like to pay a tribute to Sergio Aguero who at 32 had been forced to retire today due to health reasons.Absolutely world class striker, one of the best in this league over the last 30 years and I was at the game at Goodison in 2015 when his prompt actions in stopping the game to aid the ill health of a fan in the Gwladys Street.Top fella and a truly world class player, in an age where "world class" is bandied about too easily, Sergio Aguero was exactly that. Bobby Mallon 80 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:12:41 Forces the error(s).Don't get me wrong, we can't go trying that tomorrow, you need the players, fitness levels and players with sheer desire.Danny, I totally agree. I bet Arteta feels a cocktail now for his handbags. Danny O’Neill 81 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:15:40 I know, Brian. There were signs he was trying to install a higher level of fitness into what he largely inherited, but it seems to have broken our fragile bunch very quickly!!Yes, going to take a while and new players with a different mentality to sort us out.I've got to watch us at 8am tomorrow so can't even have a calming drink. Bill Gall 82 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:16:01 My wife just said that the sub that Liverpool just brought on looked like he was only 12 years old. Danny O’Neill 83 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:26:04 Case point. Salah just chased onto a pass that he was never reaching as the defender had come across.Against most teams, the forward puts the breaks on realising he's not getting the ball to get back in shape. Defender, having read the game well, comfortably collects the ball and Arsenal keep possession. This scenario. Salah keeps going at pace. The defender, having read the game well, collects the ball, but knowing Salah is bearing down, feels the pressure and puts a heavy touch on the ball. Throw-in to Liverpool in line with the Arsenal 18-yard line.Forced error. Joe McMahon 84 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:28:41 Jim @79, I fully agree. It's as if the ball was stuck to his feet. What a spine: Kompany, Silva and Aguero. Allan Board 85 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:29:38 I wonder if Maguire is regretting his hands-to-ears bit to the crowd at Wembley the other night now? He's just one of a huge list of overated 'defenders' in this league. Can't read the game and can't run... what use is he? Be better off sticking the nugget up front.Fear not, he is central to Engerlands plans isn't he Gareth? Keane had him down to a tee and Southgate knows it.Worryingly, all the new managers are winning games now! Dave Abrahams 86 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:41:05 Jim (79),Sergio Aguero, a truly world class player and goalscorer who always looked like he was enjoying playing football.Very sad he has had to pack in, was it his heart trouble that forced his retirement? Kieran Kinsella 87 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:43:36 Dave 86,Yes it was. I agree with you and Jim on his quality. The physicality of the prem never phased him when he came from Spain. A tough customer as well as skillful. Danny O’Neill 88 Posted 20/11/2021 at 19:55:42 That's what is being reported Dave. I wonder if in 20 years or sooner, we will be studying problems with heart conditions in elite footballers. In a similar way the discussion about frequent heading of the ball and links to dementia has come to the fore recently. There have been a few cases of players collapsing with cardiac on the pitch and who can forget that awful moment with Christian Eriksen in the summer.Of course there can be natural defects that go undetected, but the modern footballer is a total athlete who's body is literally punished to get to the level he does.Good health Sergio. As already said, genuine World Class footballer. Tony Abrahams 89 Posted 20/11/2021 at 20:19:12 Good thoughtful post, Danny.Horrible watching Sky, listening to the after-match talking. I'd love to have the time to start following some of the pundits though, who have a very similar make-up to referees in the way they can change their opinion, depending on the player or the team.Souness saying managers can't be asking for bookings or sending-offs is the first thing I'd be looking out for over the next few weeks. Brian Hennessy 90 Posted 20/11/2021 at 21:24:35 I don't often watch a full match these days unless Everton are playing. I watched the Liverpool - Arsenal game this evening and my overwhelming feeling at the end was, boy Arsenal were terrible. Makes me feel a bit better about our lot. The Gunners are 5th and should have been full of confidence with the run they were on. Dave Abrahams 91 Posted 21/11/2021 at 10:12:02 Brian (90), I didn't watch all the game but Arsenal at times were naive and a lot of the time overawed by being at Anfield and playing Liverpool. Surely Arteta should have had them ready for the occasion, given the many times he had played there for Everton and Arsenal? Maybe the Moyes approach of Everton going to Anfield had rubbed off on Arteta...? Brian Harrison 92 Posted 21/11/2021 at 10:55:52 I see Solksjaer has left Man Utd, it was almost impossible for him to survive after another terrible performance. But again it's another set of players throwing the manager under the bus. Solksjaer may not have had the tools for the job, but I always thought he came across as a decent guy. Watching Shearer last night on MotD saying Fernandes was wrong to gesture to the fans "It's more our fault than the managers" – typical ex-player who couldnt hack it as a manager taking the players' side. He says them players didn't want to play for the manager and that shows exactly what's wrong with the game these days. In all the years of watching football, I can never remember a time when managers were sacked as often as they are now; how many have already lost their jobs managing in the Premier League this season? – and we have only played at most 12 games. Money, money, money – that's all this game is about now; the game I grew up watching no longer exists. But maybe the demands of the fans have caused what we're seeing now? Fans were always passionate for their clubs to do well... but now there is no patience from owners or fans these days. Brian Hennessy 93 Posted 21/11/2021 at 10:56:12 I think you could well be right, Dave. Let's hope Rafa gets our lads better prepared when we visit them. Brian Hennessy 94 Posted 21/11/2021 at 11:12:50 Tony @89. I agree totally regarding Sky, it's painful watching. I miss the good old day's watching the old pundits we had here in Ireland. Dunphy, Giles and Dunphy were quite often wrong but they never failed to deliver great entertainment. Not least this clip below from 16 years ago around the time Roy Keane left Man United. The row really kicks off 5 minutes into the clip below and includes Dunphy's infamous Rod Liddle quote which went along the lines of "I'll tell you who wrote it [The Sunday Times article about Keane], Rod Liddle - he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one,"You wouldn't get that on Sky these days. Worth a watch for sure. Link Don Wright 95 Posted 21/11/2021 at 11:29:28 So Ole is no longer at the wheel... who's next? Gary Smith 96 Posted 21/11/2021 at 11:37:31 Don, this is an Everton forum. Who gives a feck? Tony Abrahams 97 Posted 21/11/2021 at 11:43:54 Brilliant that Brian, hilarious, mate. Pat Kelly 98 Posted 21/11/2021 at 12:06:29 I said that it looks like Ole will beat Rafa to the sack. By a few weeks. For those seemingly outraged, I didn't say Rafa should be sacked. But we haven't exactly held onto managers for long recently so who would be surprised what the board will do as we slide to the bottom. And I see Man Utd are to appoint an interim manager. Maybe waiting for Rafa. He's a good manager and could do well with some decent players. Don Wright 99 Posted 21/11/2021 at 12:07:47 Gary, since we are in the same league and two points behind them, we all should because the more crap the next manager is the better it is for us, and we cannot chat all day just about us because the are 19 other teams in the Premier League and we actually play them all twice in a football match. So yes, I give a fuck who manages the opposition and who plays for them. This may be a Everton website but funnily enough, we nearly always talk about football and, last time I looked, it took two teams to play a match. Dale Self 100 Posted 21/11/2021 at 12:55:36 Extended Yank coverage of coaching changes took place and Rafa was never mentioned. Just sayin maaaan. Dave Abrahams 101 Posted 21/11/2021 at 13:02:23 Brian (94) same story applies to a Liverpool manager in the not too distant past. Danny O’Neill 102 Posted 22/11/2021 at 13:16:41 This is the Premier League thread, Gary, where we can discuss wider Premier League issues of the week.Don, seen this morning they could approach Pochettino, who they were linked with prior to letting their heart rule their heads. Barry Hesketh 103 Posted 22/11/2021 at 13:51:43 Danny @ 102To be fair to Gary the original Ole post did appear on an Everton-related thread before the Eds moved it to here. Bobby Mallon 104 Posted 23/11/2021 at 21:47:59 Mark Robbins as interim Man Utd manager. Dale Self 105 Posted 23/11/2021 at 22:06:07 Who? or Huh? I'm not sure which is more appropriate. Why did they float Valverde if they were just going to name an unknown? I know, too many questions hit the buzzer. Danny O’Neill 106 Posted 25/11/2021 at 15:24:24 Fair one, Barry, in being equally fair to Gary!!Only came back here as it seemed a logical place given I've just seen the announcement Rangnick is to be Man Utd's interim manager.I so wanted him in the summer. He was my choice. The builder. It would have questioned Brands's role though as he's more of a bridge between a traditional manager and DoF who usually has a head coach working under him. Andrew Ellams 107 Posted 25/11/2021 at 16:20:22 Looks like he's getting a 6-month contract followed by a 2-year deal as a consultant, Danny which suggests to me he's going to steady the ship and help recruit the new guy for next year and then move upstairs to let the new guy run things as head coach as you suggest. Danny O’Neill 108 Posted 25/11/2021 at 19:23:55 Interesting they call out his strengths as being on the technical and structural aspects. He started coaching in his 20s; seems to be a trait in German football. That's now Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United with German manger / coaches and quite frankly, I'm jealous of them all.As well as being known as the football professor, he's known as the builder. He builds structures within football clubs. A DoF in all but name but generally has a young head coach looking after the first team. The coach who worked under him at RB Leipzig during his last stint, Nagelsmann, assumed the role of Head Coach at Bayern Munich in the summer, aged just 34. Keep an eye on him!I am guessing he was ruled out because it just wouldn't have worked alongside Brands. He builds clubs from academy up and is a hybrid manager come DoF. Robert Tressell 109 Posted 25/11/2021 at 21:02:02 Danny, brilliant though Rangnick is, he's not a club manager as most of us would recognise the role. I know you know this, but he is really more of an upstairs guy who can conceive a strategy and organise the implementation. He was technically a strategic consultant in Moscow, I think, before this job. It's sort of returning to where they left off with Alex Ferguson towards the end of his tenure. With Ferguson being more of a figurehead who set the tone, set the standards etc and then had coaches and others to see it all through. It might mean they will give Carrick (or someone else) a role as coach and only that, with Rangnick having a title of manager but being closer to what we'd recognise as a director of football.Interesting to see how it plays out.Something Jerome Shields said yesterday makes me think Benitez is trying to change the club culture at Everton and finding it a challenge. Rangnick has a similar challenge at Man Utd but with money to spend, an excellent squad and recent history of winning. I can only imagine what an uphill battle it is to raise the standards at Everton.
