Season › 2021-22 › General Forum Best Wishes Martin By Brian Williams 02/01/2022 Share: I just wanted to give a mention to Martin Nicholls, a regular on here, and in the Saddle pre game with his posse of like minded Evertonians.I found out only today, due in the main to my absence from the last couple of matches, that Martin suffered a stroke in November.I spoke to his grandson Teddy, and his lovely daughter Jo, today and Martin's on the start of the road to recovery, which I'm sure we all want to wish him well on.So, if you're a believer say a prayer, and if not just wish him the best on a speedy, and full recovery. Danny O’Neill 2 Posted 04/01/2022 at 09:41:09 Well said, Brian.Top man and top Evertonian. I've messaged him to wish him God speed to a recovery, return to the Saddle and Goodison Park.Best wishes, Martin, and to Cathy and the family.See you soon. Darren Hind 3 Posted 04/01/2022 at 19:57:29 Hardly ever (never) agree with you, Martin. But you are a proper Evertonian.Get yourself well lad and hurry up about it, if Rafa falls out with any more people, you could well be needed before the seasons out.Well said, Brian, BTW. Dale Self 4 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:07:52 I actually had a close call in an accident so put me down as new believer. Not sure if I have any credit upstairs but I'll check on an advance. Get well, Martin, we need you like never before. Derek Moore 5 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:09:01 All the very best to Martin and his family at this difficult time. Although, like Darren, my views on football are often wildly different to Martins - at the end of it all: he's an Evertonian. Walt Disney once said "The things that we have in common far outnumber and outweigh those that divide us." An insightful and powerful quote, and one I often find most directly relevant to this big Blue family of ours. Get better Martin, and I look forward to sparring with you again soon. Neil Copeland 6 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:10:04 Get well soon Martin.Great post Brian Tony Abrahams 7 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:20:06 Glad to hear that you're on the mend, Martin, and I hope you continue to get better and make a full recovery mate. Brent Stephens 8 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:23:45 Well played, Brian. All the best, Martin. Get well soon, mate. John McFarlane Snr 9 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:32:50 Hi Martin, I would like to add my best wishes to you and hope for your speedy recovery, as important as football may be, it's not the be all and end all, get well soon. Dave Abrahams 10 Posted 04/01/2022 at 20:45:58 Best wishes, Martin, I hope your recovery goes well and you're back at Goodison in the near future. I'll light a candle and say a few prayers for you. Paul Birmingham 11 Posted 04/01/2022 at 21:05:18 Top call out, Brian.Best wishes, Martin, and our TW thoughts and prayers are with you. Brendan McLaughlin 12 Posted 04/01/2022 at 22:45:56 Echo the calls for a full and speedy recovery, Martin... certainly puts our angst for all things Everton into sharp perspective. Tony Hill 13 Posted 04/01/2022 at 23:11:49 All the very best, Martin. Christine Foster 14 Posted 04/01/2022 at 23:43:00 All the very best for your recovery Martin, don't stay a stranger too long! Like the old Burt Bacharach song, "I say a little prayer for you":-) Bobby Mallon 15 Posted 05/01/2022 at 14:17:48 All the best Martin. I suffered a stroke in 2019, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Mike Gaynes 16 Posted 05/01/2022 at 22:11:56 Just saw this... adding my wishes to the rest. Stay strong, Martin, we want you back.Bobby, glad you've bounced back! Jim Hardin 20 Posted 06/01/2022 at 23:51:51 I have a rule about not posting anymore, but this seems a good time to break it. Best wishes to you Martin for a speedy and complete recovery. John Cook 21 Posted 07/01/2022 at 00:49:09 Sorry to hear about your' illness Martin.Heres hoping for a speedy recovery. The very best wishes to you and all your family. Si Cooper 22 Posted 07/01/2022 at 01:41:06 Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery, Martin.Sporadic as it has become, I often seem to log on well after some unfortunate news has been posted and can feel a mite embarrassed to be very late with my not very useful ‘best wishes'. Such is the general camaraderie on TW that I wish only the best for anyone who is part of this community (even those I have ‘sparred' with) and I hope people generally take that ‘as read' if I haven't added a personal message to their acknowledgements. After all, by wishing for all the best for fellow Evertonians I may just happen to benefit myself! Ron Marr 23 Posted 07/01/2022 at 02:17:15 Best wishes Martin. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
