Season › 2021-22 › General Forum Real Madrid crowned La Liga Champions 30/04/2022 Share: Carlo Ancelotti became the first manager to win the league in all five of Europe's major leagues as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 4-0 to win La Liga.Ancelotti went to Real Madrid after he seemed to give up on his avowed mission to make Everton great again, watching passively from the touchline as they slipped from top of the Premier League in October 2020 to finish 12th at the end of last season before he abruptly jumped off the sinking ship. Restrictions from the Covid pandemic had largely stripped Goodison of any fans during Ancelotti's final ill-fated campaign, which was soured perhaps terminally by a nasty burglary of his house in Crosby in February. Disclaimer Michael Kenrick 1 Posted 30/04/2022 at 18:29:06 Proof, as of it were needed, that top-class managers can't produce magic from crap players. Hello Frank... let's be seeing ya, lad. Prove 'em wrong. Nick Page 2 Posted 30/04/2022 at 18:30:49 Apart from Klopp? Brian Murray 3 Posted 30/04/2022 at 18:32:18 If ever a cheque book manager it's him, the job like many before and after too big for him. All them away games wins to me were false and no reflection on him or the team. Covid and no fans. No way we would've even got half them wins with fans there. Paul Hewitt 4 Posted 30/04/2022 at 20:52:50 The only manager in the Moshiri era who actually realized how crap we were, and change tactics to accommodate the team. John Pickles 5 Posted 30/04/2022 at 21:22:00 If only we could have got Carlo, instead of appointing Koeman, how much different history might have been. Paul Smith 6 Posted 30/04/2022 at 21:52:54 Yeah Brian he's shite. We were fighting for Europe until the last few games of the season and now we're bordering on relegation with almost the same players. Paul Hewitt 7 Posted 30/04/2022 at 21:54:30 If only Kenwright had turned down Moshiri offer. How much different history might be Don Alexander 8 Posted 30/04/2022 at 22:03:30 I think we all need to pay tribute to the RM owner/boardroom for obviously having sought advice from Kenwright as to how to put a great club back on track to win things. Chris Hockenhull 9 Posted 30/04/2022 at 22:09:42 To all the loons on this site who rejoiced early season when he had a few dodgy results.., who decried the “ silly song†the fans sang.. who said he's crap…, etc… etc. etc Well We'll Well. And while we're on it.. hope you all welcome that lazy striker who can't trap a bag of cement tomorrow… etc. etc. Don't you just love the expert opinions of Football Manager et al games who know far more than the truth and reality…???? Rob Dolby 10 Posted 30/04/2022 at 22:25:57 Brian 3 your being sarcastic right? Brendan McLaughlin 11 Posted 30/04/2022 at 22:59:20 Signed an Everton contract with an "I'm better than this" opt out..seriously who give's a fuck what he does? Danny O’Neill 12 Posted 01/05/2022 at 04:15:18 I see Carlo hit a landmark yesterday. Not good enough for Everton in some eyes yet has achieved something no-one else has done in the game previously.Give a coach the tools and you can achieve. Better players, better run club. We keep blaming the manager - that's playing to those who are really to blame. Christine Foster 13 Posted 01/05/2022 at 04:43:36 Danny, yes, have to say it, but I take my hat off to Ancelotti, great achievement, never been done before and probably never will again, but as you say, not good enough for some. It all comes down to what you have to work with, probably thought about it thus, he had retirement planned in a few years time, not long enough to fix Everton, so why not go and win with a team that had ambition, better players and money? I was really disappointed when he left, but it only goes to show the state we were (and still are) in.Brick by brick, we will build it again… starting today!
