At half-time, Everton led 1-0 on a goal from Jack Tierney off a corner after just 5 minutes. Schoolboy Halid Djankpata had to come off after less than 25 minutes. There were no more goals until right at the death, when the highly-rated youngster Emilio Lawrence made it 2-0 for the young Blues, their first win of the season. Everton U18s: Stewart, Tierney, Wright, Samuels-Smith, Mallon, Djankpata (23' Coughlan), Heath, Metcalfe, Sherif (72' Jagne), Baker, Lawrence. Subs not Used: Graham, Jones, Apter.
