Season › 2024-25 › News The Rumour Mill Zirkzee rumours slip into high gear Michael Kenrick | 09/10/2025 1comment | Jump to last The irrepressible Rumour Mill just can't stop grinding away, even if there are almost 3 months of peaceful inactivity we can enjoy before the madness of the January Transfer Window is upon us. But of course that doesn't stop players, agents and clubs jockeying for position well ahead of the date when the window does reopen. The latest gem to be mashed up and spat out from the grinding wheels is one Joshua Zirkzee, who, we are told wants out of Manchester United since Ruben Amorin seems to have rather snubbed him as he searches for solutions to his onging struggles at Old Trafford. The Dutchman has not started a single Premier League game this season and has managed just 74 minutes across three substitute appearances. This means he is ripe for transfer to new pastures come January. Everton are reported to be 'keeping tabs' on the £36M Man Utd player ahead of January window... but so are a host of other clubs. He's not short of ability even if it hasn't worked out at Man Utd.Much better technically than Beto and Barry - but much less a conventional striker than these two also (since he comes very deep and acts as a playmaker more than a goalscorer). Might be a headache initially as to how he fits in (especially while we're still re-building the flanks) but could become very good.
