Season › 2011-12 › News Moyes going for derby win Lyndon Lloyd , 12 March, 24comments | Jump to most recent David Moyes has his sights set on a first win at Anfield when he takes his team and their nine-game unbeaten run into the Merseyside derby tomorrow evening. The Everton boss is somewhat irked by the Premier League's decision to schedule the game just four days before both clubs play important FA Cup quarter final ties but he is looking forward to a match that is never just another game. "We'll go to Anfield and try and win, that's the first thing to try and do," Moyes said in particularly pragmatic fashion in his pre-match press conference. "And if we can't win, the next thing you want to do is get a draw. "I think the cup is a distraction for both teams and ideally you wouldn't want a game in the week leading up to it," he continued. "And I think even more so I don't think anyone would really want a derby. "So that would be the disappointing thing, that the Premier League have put this game in this spot just now." Everton may be the form team coming into the 217th derby but Moyes isn't putting much store in the two teams' respective performance in recent weeks. "A lot of the years I have gone into the game and Liverpool have been the form team, and folk have said: 'Who knows in derbies'. "You never do know."
