Moyes facing Baines headache

Ever-present left back could be out for the season
For the first time in at least two years, David Moyes has to deal with the absence of Leighton Baines, one of the key components in his side, after the defender injured a hamstring towards the end of last weekend's defeat at Wembley. The England international is ruled out of Sunday's trip to Old Trafford and his manager will hope he doesn't end up missing the rest of the season.

Baines, of course, is a strong and likely candidate for England's Euro2012 squad but he should have plenty of time to recover before that tournament rolls around in June. He has apparently targeted the Blues' last game of the season against Newcastle United for his comeback after suffering a grade two tear.

Though he lacks Baines' pace and attack-minded style, Phil Neville, whose favoured position is left back, is the obvious candidate to deputise, while Sylvain Distin could also fill in if need be.
