Season › 2011-12 › News Drenthe's goose is cooked Michael Kenrick , 21 April, 58comments | Jump to most recent Loan player is banished from Finch Farm According to the Echo, Royston Drenthe's Everton career is almost certainly over after he was banished by David Moyes for twice being late for training ahead of the club's FA Cup semi-final defeat. The 25-year-old has been told to stay away from Finch Farm and fined the maximum amount possible by the furious Blues boss, who is not planning to include him for any of the season's remaining five games. It means Drenthe, who joined on loan from Real Madrid last summer, will be released when his loan expires in May and told to find a new club. The Echo understands that last week's misdemeanours were the latest in a string of disciplinary problems, which had already left club insiders seething. Drenthe was granted compassionate leave as he tried to solve a family dilemma last month, but had returned to training the week before the Blues' last Premier League fixture against Sunderland. He was two hours late for a session the day before the 4-0 Goodison victory over the Black Cats, and although Moyes was deeply unhappy he gave the Dutch midfielder a final warning. However, Drenthe, who has one cap for Holland, was two hours late again last Thursday morning, meaning he missed a key team meeting ahead of the semi-final.
