Pienaar wants a permanent return

Steven Pienaar has told David Moyes he wants to turn his loan move to Everton into a permanent deal from Spurs.

Pienaar rejoined the club in January after a miserable year at White Hart Lane, he has been back to his best and played a massive part in Everton's turnaround in fortunes since the turn of the year.

It is no surprise that he wants a permanent switch back to Everton but he is under contract at Spurs and they will demand a fee for the 30-year-old which may make the move difficult for David Moyes.

He told the Daily Post: "Steven has made a huge impact for us. I don't know if we can sign him or not, but we will try after the season finishes.

"I'm sure we would all here like to keep Steven Pienaar. He has told me he wants to stay.

"If that's the case, then it gives us a chance to make it happen. Obviously though he is owned by Tottenham Hotspur.

"Steven was terrific against Fulham. He looks like he enjoys his football here where he can be appreciated and what he does is acceptable."
