Season › 2011-12 › News The wait goes on for Yobo Lyndon Lloyd , 25 June, 5comments | Jump to most recent Joseph Yobo has restated his hope that his permanent switch to Fenerbahçe will be concluded soon as they continue to haggle with Everton over a fee for the Nigerian defender. Yobo has spent two years with the Turkish club and regards his move there as the best of his career. ?Moving to Fenerbahçe was the best thing in my career,? the 31-year-old said. ?I joined them because I was eager to win silverware. The 2011 Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup justified that." He even goes as far as to say that the Turkish league is technically better than the English Premier League. ?The Turkish league is more technical than the Premier League. The Premier League is more physical and most popular in the world, but after playing for seven years in England, I think the Turkish league is of a better quality. "I hope my permanent move to Fenerbahçe is concluded soon." Reports over the weekend suggested that Fenerbahçe are likely to conclude a deal this week for a fee of around £1.5m (?2m) but it's not clear if Everton would accept that seeing as they are believed to be holding out for closer to £3m. Indeed, SuperSport are reporting that talks between Bill Kenwright and the defender have "broken down irreparably", with the Everton Chairman holding out for his valuation of the player amid interest from the likes of Leicester City and Norwich City. The same report suggests that Yobo would be happy to return to England if the destination club can match his wages in Turkey. David Moyes has stated that he wants Yobo back at Finch Farm on 1 July if nothing is agreed with another club by then.
