Season › 2013-14 › News Blues land Alcaraz and Robles , 9 July, 0comments | Jump to most recent Free agent defender and Spanish keeper arrive Goalkeeper Joel Robles becomes the third signing of the week after the capture of Alcaraz and Kone Everton have confirmed the capture of their second and third signings of the week with the news that Antolin Alcaraz sealed his free transer from Wigan Athletic, while Joel Robles arrives from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee, reported in Spain to be €4m. Alcaraz was out of contract this summer and his move to Everton has been mooted ever since Roberto Martinez was installed as David Moyes successor as manager. The 30 year-old agreed a two-year deal, the club confirmed and signed the paperwork after a successful medical and international clearance was secured. That cleared the way for him to reunite with Martinez, who brought him to the Premier League two years ago. Robles, meanwhile, also links back up with Martinez after a fee was agreed today with Atletico. The 23 year-old spent last season on loan at Wigan and kept a clean sheet at Wembley in the Latics' FA Cup triumph over Manchester City in May. He signs a five-year contract and comes in to provide competition for places to Tim Howard following the release this month of Jan Mucha. Everton fly out to Austria for Sunday's opening pre-season friendly against Austria Vienna and were keen to press ahead with the deals before they jetted off. Alcaraz and Robles will join his new team-mates at the training camp but Arouna Kone, the Blues' first signing of the summer, will remain on leave until later this month. Speculation persists, meanwhile, that Everton are in a good position to sign hot Spanish U20 winger Gerard Deulofeu on loan from Barcelona for next season.
