Season › 2013-14 › News Fellaini remains a big part of Martinez's plans Lyndon Lloyd , 15 July, 0comments | Jump to most recent While speculation continues over Maroaune Fellaini's future, Roberto Martinez is keen to stress that he sees the Belgian as an integral part of his plans for his first season in charge at Everton. The Guardian have raised the prospect of David Moyes pairing the man he initially signed from Standard Liege with Cesc Fabregas at Manchester United, but Martinez sees the 25 year-old continuing his development into one of the Premier League's finest midfielders at Goodison Park. "Marouane is an international footballer and he's going to be involved, if all goes well, in a World Cup next year," the new Blues boss told evertonfc.com. "He's had a fantastic impact in the Premier League and hopefully now is the time he can carry on showing his massive influence in the game for us. As if to further impress his importance to Everton on Fellaini, Martinez made the midfield powerhouse captain in the second half of Sunday's friendly against Austria Vienna. "He's still a very young man but I am really looking forward to seeing Marouane working hard and making sure that he sets really good standards at this club," Martinez continued. "We have a very good group of senior players in our dressing room, and some players need that extra bit of responsibility. "We have youngsters at the club and they need to get opportunities but the senior players at the club are massively important to start the season as strong as we can be." Moyes is reported to have offered Barcelona £26m for Fabregas and it would take a bid of a similar or equal amount to trigger Fellaini's release clause and prise him away from Everton this summer.
