Everton's Under-18 side have won the Final of the Gothia Cup (The World Youth Cup!) in Gothenberg, Sweden this afternoon, beating Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna 3-0 to lift the trophy. Courtney Duffus scored the first goal with Harry Charsley getting the second, and a penalty taken by Duffus after he was fouled by the keeper sealed the win.

The stunning victory sees Everton unbeaten in a series of six games played this week, culminating in their historic win this afternoon.

1st Group Match: 1-1 v IK Gegle (Monday) — Harry Charsley got on the scoresheet.

2nd Group Match: 1-0 v Varas Academy of Hungary (Tuesday) — A Duffus strike sealed the win.

3rd Group Match: 4-0 v IFK Gothenberg (Wednesday) — a brace from Charsley alongside headers from Duffus and Jonjoe Kenny. This sealed top spot in Group 1, edging out fellow Swedes Gefle IF on goal difference.

Quarterfinal: 1-1 v IF Elfsborg (Thursday) — Everton won 5-4 on penalties. Courtney Duffus's third goal of the tournament cancelled out the Swedes' early opener. The young forward then scored the Blues' opening spot-kick in the shootout, with Gethin Jones, Curtis Langton and Antonee Robinson just as clinical from 12 yards to claim the semi-final place.

Semifinal: 3-0 v Esjberg FB (Friday) — The Duffus brothers, Tyrone and Courtney, scored one each with Ryan Ledson getting one as well.
