Season › 2024-25 › News Vitalii Mykolenko back in the squad for Wolves trip while three miss out Anjishnu Roy 29/08/2025 1comment | Jump to last David Moyes will be able to count on Vitalii Mykolenko for the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers after the left-back made his return from injury against Mansfield Town this week. Having picked up an injury in the final pre-season friendly against AS Roma at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Mykolenko spent a couple of weeks on the sidelines before returning to the fold at the same venue on Wednesday. He started against Mansfield Town in the EFL Cup and played 87 minutes in the 2-0 win after missing the Blues’ first two Premier League fixtures against Leeds United and Brighton. Moyes, however, will miss three players for the trip to Molineux as Jarrad Branthwaite, Adam Aznou and Nathan Patterson haven’t been medically cleared yet. "I hope so," said Moyes in Friday's pre-match press conference, when asked if Mykolenko will be ready to start again. "It was good to have him back because we've been short in recent weeks, so getting him back is really important for us." Offering an update on summer signing Aznou, Moyes added: "Adam still has a little bit of a problem with his ankle. He's back doing some training but we just need to monitor him and see where he is." Aznou is yet to make his official debut for Everton after signing from Bayern Munich this summer.
