Representatives of the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army and Merchant Navy will lay poppy wreaths on the centre circle and observe a minute’s silence ahead of the match which kicks off at 1.30pm. During the tribute the Armed Forces personnel will be joined by standard bearers and a bugler from the Royal British Legion. An additional number of Armed Forces personnel will be in attendance to support the Blues in the game against Sunderland, with the Club having donated 300 tickets to servicemen and women as part of the Tickets For Troops initiative. Article continues below video content “It is very important, first and foremost as a football club, for everyone that is connected to Everton to show our respect for the magnificent job and the role that the Armed Forces have in the community," said mnager Roberto Martinez. “We are looking forward to recognising their great contribution and to enjoying a fantastic celebration as a demonstration of our support and respect for the Forces.” This week Sergeant Russ Edwards from the Royal Air Force, Sub Lieutenant Chris Sampson-Jones from the Royal Navy, Staff Sergeant Anthony Parkinson from the British Army and Third Officer Darren Such from the Merchant Navy were all welcomed to Finch Farm to meet the Everton boss along with Blues’ captain Phil Jagielka and Club Ambassador Graeme Sharp, who led them on a guided tour of the training facilities. “It’s been great to meet Roberto and Phil Jagielka today, I’m a massive Everton fan so for them to take time out of their day to come and say hello was really special," Parkinson said. “To have the opportunity to remember our fallen comrades at Goodison will be extra special ahead of the Sunderland game. It's not every day that you get to walk on to the pitch of the football team that you have supported all your life and then get to pay your respects at the same time.” Everton players will also mark Remembrance Sunday by wearing special poppy-embroidered shirts for the Sunderland game and again at West Ham the following on Saturday, November 7.
