Season › 2012-13 › News U21s pegged back by Villa Lyndon Lloyd , 17 March, 6comments | Jump to most recent Everton's U21s seemed destined for another win on the back of goals by Conor McAleny and Hallam Hope but Aston Villa's second string came back from 2-0 down to hold the Blues to a 2-2 draw. McAleny scored yet again to open the scoring at the Merseyrail Community Stadium and it was the 20 year-old who set up Hope to head home in the second half to double the lead. Daniel Johnson pulled one back almost immediately for the visitors, however, and the same player struck the equaliser four minutes from time to deny Everton victory. Alan Stubbs' men remain unbeaten in 2013, however, and are six points clear at the top of Group 1. Would be interested to hear a more detailed report. Disappointing to let a two goal cushion slip at home. If that happened to the first team then this site would be filled with bile!Would love to have a look at mcaleny in the first team. Sounds like he is comfortably out scoring vellios who I think is a bit overrated by some fans on the basis of his handful of sub goals last season.
