Season › 2012-13 › News Jagielka has no plans to leave Goodison Lyndon Lloyd , 28 May, 4comments | Jump to most recent Phil Jagielka says that he has no plans to follow David Moyes out of Goodison Park and fully expects to be at Everton next season. With the Premier League season over and Blues chairman Bill Kenwright deliberating over whom to appoint as Moyes's successor, the defender has turned his attentions to England as they prepare for a friendly against the Republic of Ireland. But he remains committed to Everton and hopes to retain the club captaincy bestowed upon him by Moyes a few weeks ago when Phil Neville announced his imminent departure from Goodison. Jagielka says he definitely expects to remain a Blues player despite Moyes leaving for Manchester United. "I was made captain for next season when David Moyes was in charge," he says. "We will have to wait and see what happens with the new manager, but hopefully he will keep me in that role and it is something that I am looking forward to doing. "I'm not really thinking about Everton until we report back in July and I hope by then we will have a manager sorted and we will see where it takes us from there." Disclaimer Lenny Kingman 1 Posted 28/05/2013 at 12:38:47 Maybe the signing of a contract extension of a year by Ferdinand had him release this statement.. However in 12 months or less Jags might think differently. Bjørn-Ivar Pedersen 3 Posted 28/05/2013 at 14:03:23 I am glad Jags make it clear now, this is for others to follow, after all he is the captain. Actually I am in believe that Jagielka is one of those guys who will see his career through here with us, I believe he feel well at home at GP and with the fans, so he will stay a long time coming. Paul Andrews 4 Posted 28/05/2013 at 20:13:07 Lenny,Jagielka is a far superior defender to Ferdinand Lenny Kingman 5 Posted 29/05/2013 at 07:34:19 PaulIndeed, but would you want to play alongside old camel gob spitting orders at you every game.
