Everton: A Vision for the Future

You would expect whoever negotiated [Everton's shirt] sponsorship deal [with Chang] that any advertising, labels, packaging a certain percentage would have to feature Everton in some shape or form in order to push forward (I hate this word but the club have been using it a lot recently) our 'brand'. This obviously is not the case... The deal itself ... expires at the end of next season; £4 million pound per season is a very poor return for a consistent top 8/6 side.

Too risky. For one I adore Pedigree bitter but would not wash my arse in it let alone buy or drink it if for example Liverpool's brand was on it....

Chang/Thai Beverage has done plenty of EFC-related promotion in SE Asia, but nothing I'm aware of for a few years. I always got the impression that they would've been willing to do more. It could be the relationship has run its course.

It really wouldn't have been too difficult for Everton to appoint a locally-based agency to manage that relationship and develop it further - i.e. drive the value of the partnership up. Something I know was suggested to them a few years back.

Everton should NOT bind themselves to more then 2 years in shirt deals. Kitbag has gotten very decent exposure with Everton in the UK and Everton have been paid very little for it. Everton must learn from this mistake. Even Aston Villa have better shirt deals than us, as do many others.

The marketing/ executives team at Everton is a joke. It is high time for a change, we deserve more than £4 million a year.

The time that this contract was signed we were on a upward climb; because of the long-term contract with Kitbag and Chang, we have missed out on the cash rain.

Everton need to be running shirt sales and taking the full profit themselves and not outsource it to others such as Kitbag. When will Robert Elstone take charge of this club and build it up again?

Robert Elstone? BK's yes-man? What will he do that BK hasn't?

Matt #433, I suspect it has something to do with the Kitbag deal. Before then the Chang Sports Bars here had lots of merchandise to give away on match days but in the last 3-4 years there's been nothing.

I'm hoping that all that merchandise they have with the 'old' crest might make it's way out here as freebies.
