Roberto Martinez has lost the ordinary Everton fan and now there seems no way back

"Martinez, it seems, has lost the ordinary fan," writes Greg O'Keeffe. "Not only the keyboard warriors, not just the habitual cynics who love to rant on social media. Everton aren't at a crossroads with their manager any more. They're at the end of the road."

Roberto has long lost EVERY blue.

The few % of people who vote for him to stay in his job must be bored red shite fans.

Interesting piece for the Echo to run. Hard to imagine them doing so without at least the tacit agreement of the Club.

With Roberto Martinez's tenure at Everton surely drawing to a close, now is the time for the board to take action and hasten his departure, before the Norwich game. I shudder to think of the reaction of the faithful should the incumbent manager take his place in the lap of appreciation around the Goodison pitch. We are, I hope, not so callous as to really want that to happen.

Whether or not you want the manager gone, I don't believe anyone wants the humiliation he would certainly have to endure should he stay for that final day. I know personally, that I would have to leave the ground rather than see him go through that ordeal. Whatever happens on Sunday let's hope that the owner (that's what he is) and chairman have anticipated this scenario and act accordingly.

I read a few posts recently regarding a planned walk out on 78 minutes (1878).

It would mean no direct abuse to players or manager but still deliver a strong message that would be captured by the press and would finally show Martinez that he HAS LOST THE FANS... as he walks around a 6% full Goodison Park! Media pressure is one thing the board will pay attention to.

Michael #4 - a possible compromise would be that the club announce that they are parting company with the manager by mutual consent, thanking him for his efforts etc before the game but he will be taking charge for the last time against Norwich. That would take the heat out of the situation and allow him to leave with a respectful send off.

But then is that just paving the road to hell with good intentions.....? I guess he knows the deal so he'll be fully prepared for whatever comes his way on Sunday. To be fair, the few million stuffed down of the back of his pants will soften the blow better than any copy of the Beano...

Still think we should be doing the man a favour and not subjecting him to a lap of appreciation on Sunday, it's not going to be pretty.

Thank Kenwright for that!

In my opinion there will be an announcement on the Saturday evening before the game. With an amicable parting of ways. Roberto gets the dignity of a Luke warm send off and no need for any hostility or embarrassing (for the club) protests.

Either that or the club is totally deluded/oblivious and there will be carnage.

He's certainly lost the participants of this forum. Question is how much of the Goodison crowd?

I can't see him going before the game on Sunday, not Kenwright's style. I have nothing against the man, he's tried something, it hasn't worked. Yes, he's losing the fans, but more importantly it would appear that he has lost the senior players, the players are who will keep the club in the division reaping the shareholders its considerable benefits.

A manager cannot effectively manage disgruntled employees, its human nature to not give your full effort when you don't believe in the direction of your company/club, regardless of how much you earn.

Moshiri will be a bright fella, he must see this. Before reinvestment, surely he will want to bring in his own man? We light the candles and wait ...

I was delighted to see this article in the Echo. Never in my life has the local paper attacked a manager in this way. Well done, the Echo!

Roberto Martinez has been well paid, very well paid for producing utter shite. He should depart, not with our thanks, not with "You gave it your best shot, hard luck", but with a fucking toe up his hole.
