Steven Pienaar is a full-time Everton player again after the 30-year-old put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Goodison Park. The South African, who says that, "there was no doubt in my mind that I would be back," underwent a successfiul medical earlier ahead of a £4.5m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur. Update It's still to be confirmed by Everton due to the final details being ironed out, but the Turkish-Football.com website are reporting that Everton have finally accepted a knock-down price of €2.5M (~£2M) for wantaway defender Joseph Yobo. Fenerbahçe had reportedly agreed to a fee of £5M when the player went to Turkey on loan 2 years ago, but the Turks reneged on this deal and Everton agreed apparently to get money in that would finance the return of Steven Pienaar.

Nacional in Java Cup after Galatasaray bail

Galatasaray have pulled out the Java Cup, to be replaced by Nacional of Uruguay. Nacional may now be Everton's opponents at Jakarta's Gelora Bung stadium on Sunday (29 July), if both sides win their opening games against Malaysia and Indonesia.

Reserves lose ARR Carib Cup Final

Everton Reserves went behind after just 2 mins to a sharp header from Sean Welsh for the home side, who have had the upper hand in the first half. A penalty was called early in the second half and Welsh scored his second from the spot but Conor McAleny pulled one back for the Blues. But 2 mins later and the Blues went further behind, and Thistle then had another goal disallowed for offside.

Everton staff wanted to see how the former Rangers player’s right knee has healed after he had surgery on it in November 2011 to repair anterior cruciate ligament damage. That injury kept him sidelined for the rest of last season.
